NCAA Softball getting better ratings than MLB!

I don't know that I'd blame it on MLB being "woke" as much as it is that college softball is growing in popularity and it was the regional tournament going on at the time. The game is faster and, in the opinions of many, more fun to watch. There's more personality. More fun. Still - interesting that college softball is doing so well! I think people are getting annoyed with pro sports in general -- too much money, and yes, too much politics for some.

The biggest problem with MLB is no one wants to invest four hours in a game. Especially when much of the time is spend watching players posture by scratching, deathly slow walks to the mound or other waste of time. The second issue IMO is the woke agenda. Regardless of which side of the aisle one sits there is no place for it in sports which are suppose to be an escape for the viewers.
Softball is a fast moving sport essentially played in a closet like setting where everything counts. Its high energy and fun to watch because there the element of pure competition.

Excellent spot on point. It's so annoying to watch a batter after every pitch (not even swing) step out and act like they're dressing for a prom... Brush their hair, restrap everything, tuck their shirt in, then wave to the ump.

Someone who isn't willing to invest 4 hours in a baseball game isn't going to invest 3 hours into one either.
Speeding up the game of baseball is not the solution. All of the slight rule changes to save 20 minutes of game time are completely ridiculous and a waste.

I keep hearing the word "woke" constantly. To be honest, I don't care about that one way or another. Pace-of-play rules have helped the PGA--there's no reason they couldn't help MLB.

I can do the same thing.
South Carolina is the bestest football team in South Carolina (excluding, Clemson, the Citadel, Coastal Carolina, Furman, Wofford, PC, Winthrop, Charleston Southern, SC State, Newberry, Erskine, and any other team we forgot).
It is called cherry picking here.
And the point of it, nothing "woke" baseball is so boring that most folks rather brush up on their statistics during the game. Soccer is more interesting.

Baseball is a boring kids game, being played by gazillionaires whose names you can’t pronounce, during a ridiculously long season, in stadiums regular people can’t afford to attend, etc, etc.
I don’t blame the “wokeness” but I suppose that could be part of it, at least for a casual fan.
I can’t believe anyone actually wastes their time with baseball.
I haven’t watched a single MLB game since around 1995 or so…

Owners won't reduce it down though. If they reduce it down in half and place a big emphasis on each game/series, then more people will care.
They can't get out of their own way to improve the sport though.

I completely agree with this.
Seeing stadiums across the country during college regionals and super regionals and during the MLB playoffs show that there is still a major interest in baseball.
Baseballs biggest problem is that the supply greatly exceeds the demand.
Once you put the 56 game regular season for college with the 162 game regular season for MLB, it's already a ton.
What most people forget is that many baseball fans are also near a minor league team that is also going to have over 100 games in their regular season.
There is so much baseball available, why would anybody stress over missing some "meaningless" regular season games.

Than 1 of 162 baseball regular season game. MLB season way too long. Nobody wants to invest up to 20 hours every week watching their mlb team unless they are truly a baseball lover.
