Teams better have a mobile QB with good vision and quick processing ability…

So, what are they doing about fake injuries? I read the report and have no idea what change, if any, has been made.

Sounds like the only difference is you can report suspected faking after the fact. It's a pretty easy fix. You go down for an injury then you cannot return until the next series.

They considered a change of that nature - requiring a player

to sit out for longer than one play - but chose not to implement such a rule because they were concerned that it may lead to players attempting to play when actually injured.

And that's not surprising at all. It's a valid concern that I've raised in the past when such ideas were mentioned.

I like that rule. I would even say the player must sit out at least 4 plays AND a change of possession.
It the possession ends before 4 plays, then he must sit out the start of the next possession by the opposing offense (assuming it was a defensive player who is injured.)

I would love this rule change!

Exactly as you put it.

All in the name of "player safety"! Don't make a kid that's woozy go right back out there just because the other team is about to score and he's a key player on defense. Just deal with it if the player goes down and depends on your depth.

So the teams that run the option how do they get away with those below the knee blocks?

The fake slide should be named the Kenny Pickett Rule.

ZEBRAS to dictate the game. Because, like holding, it is going to happen on just about every play. And so, the ZEBRAS will be able to have an inordinate amount of control over the outcome of games.

I do not like it, Sam I AM. I do not like Green Eggs and Ham.

I think this is more clear cut and less of a judgement call

It's not too difficult to determine whether a block is outside of the tackle box or whether it was below the waist.

Holding vs non-holding is often much more subtle and also difficult to see because it's often in the middle of the scrum at the LOS. Blocks outside of the tackle box are much more in the open and visible to the officials.
