What are the NCAA Net Rankings?
The NET includes more components than just winning percentage. It takes into account game results, strength of schedule, game location, scoring margin, net offensive and defensive efficiency, and the quality of wins and losses. It's both a results-driven and predictive metric.
Thus these two Quad 4 losses by our Tigers loom large in our current Net Rankings:
#233 - Loyola Chicago
#264 - coots
Finger crossed we DON’T suffer anymore Quad 4 setbacks . . . starting with a WIN over Louisville!!!!!!!

I wonder if we would make the tournament if we finish 15–5 in conference this year, but all of our losses are from the hands of Louisville, FSU, and BC?

One "D" or "F" can drag down a GPA much faster than all the hard work involved in getting it to a respectable level, and it takes a lot more good hard work to recover from that one poor grade.

A few years ago when Buzz Williams was at new tech he figured out how to game the ranking. He had a game where he was down by 11 with 5 seconds left and called a time out to run a set play for 2 to get the margin under 10. When he was asked about it he said he needed to get the margin under 10 so his NET score wouldn’t take as much of a hit.

The tigers just need to keep playing the quality basketball that they currently are playing. They need to protect home court, so the 2 games this week are very important. Would love to see LJ packed out Wednesday night for the 9pm tipoff!

Two things. That ain't happening. Cooters pounded at home 84-43 by Tennessee. Loyola lost to another team ranked net below them.
But it won't matter in March. We're in the tournament this year with a 7 seed or higher. We're that good. Brad could play all 2nd stringers Wednesday and still win.
