And that is not what happened to Babbitt.
Babbitt didn't die because she didn't comply. She died because she was refusing trying to attempting to enter a highly sensitive area wherein the officer had no other recourse but to use deadly force.

Okay, perhaps I’m not articulating my point clearly. I am not arguing the rightness or wrongness of the actions of anyone involved, including Donald Trump or the Capital police. I’m saying the event was simply not a legitimate threat to American democracy. I’m pointing out the gaslighting and overt hyperbole from the usual suspects. And illustrating the irony that the usual suspects are a FAR bigger, and more legitimate, threat to American democracy because of said gaslighting and overt hyperbole.
