need to remove that section between I85 and downtown because it is a bunch of traffic and not much worthwhile

I hear of people coming here for vacation and stuff and honestly do not understand the appeal at all. There are some good restaurants for sure, but past that it's just crowded urban sprawl with no other real redeeming qualities other than it's fairly close to better places.

Granted, I know it used to be really bad based on what my wife and her parents tell me. She grew up there. But living there in the late 2000s/early 2010s wasn't bad. Good restaurants, bars, mountains nearby, great baseball stadium, etc. Traffic wasn't ####### like Charleston, at least. I'm more impressed now with Greenville when I go back.
Greenville, compared to most of SC, is a ####### gem.
EDIT: Also, I like that it was a day trip to Clemson. That's one negative to being down here; Clemson games are a whole weekend/traveling chore.

some quaint small towns like Greer and Simpsonville, but those are a dime a dozen in SC.
Downtown is special for SC imo. Not many places the size of Greenville has what Greenville has and it is the envy of other similar sized towns - and remember, Greenville ain't a big place.

I tell people in the QC to go to Greenville if you want a weekend getaway that's in driving distance. Especially if you are into outdoorsy stuff. Really cool laid back downtown and close to good hiking, kayaking and other outdoor fun.
