It’s been a great ride ever since that night. Don’t forget the “catmans” kick to send LSU home!

I was sitting in the nosebleeds in the LSU section- using free tickets from the USO returned by the other LSU fans who didn’t buy tix since they thought they should’ve been in a ‘better bowl’ - getting over a week of flu (maybe it was the China Virus) ….. what a GLORIOUS NIGHT!

Has it really been NINE YEARS?!?!

Great moment indeed. But Clemson football had "arrived"

Dec 31, 2021, 11:41 AM

many years before the 4th and 16 play.

It just had been in hibernation since 1990 ish.

Yes, but that was the arrival of the second coming of Clemson football. The game that was the springboard to our first wave of success was when we beat South Carolina in 1976 After they obliterated us The year before 56 to 21. Fall of 76 was my sophomore year at Clemson. Our record coming into that game Was 2-6-2. Red Parker was the coach. All year long the team started games very slow and then would have a good second half. The Clemson team was not present for any pregame warm-up in the stadium. What Coach Parker did is he had the first team offense scrimmage the first team defense in the field behind Jervey. The crowd was crazy when they came down the hill. We jumped out to a 14 to nothing lead and never looked back. The next year we went 8-2-1, Lost to the defending national champs Pittsburgh in the gator bowl. Then fall of 78 we finished 11 – one after defeating Ohio State in the gator bowl. That was Danny Ford,‘s first game. But what a lot of fun and joy it has been to see Dabo resurrect this program!!! Go Tigers!!

So crazy that was 9 years ago. I watched that game with my daughter when she was still young enough to sit in the recliner with me. She fell asleep in around the third quarter but was woken up when I was going crazy on the 4th and 16 play.

Great memories.

Yea. I’d love to see an honest account of how many fans gave up and went to bed and missed that. This is why I never stop watching. There is always a chance. It ain’t over till we say it’s over!

Being in the stadium that night and for our two Natty wins were highlights of my life as a Clemson fan! That is the night that I first learned the term LSU (now SEC)(fake injury) time out.

Yep, and I've never seen another QB play as tough as Tajh played that night. No doubt that TB10 refused to lose the biggest game in his QB life. Most QB's wouldn't have had the courage to keep getting back up the way that LSU D was roughing Tajh up, and he kept jumping back up time after time until getting his team in a position to win that game!!!

I am proud to say I was there ....What a gutsy performance by the entire team...I couldn't afford the trip but my best friend & his dad took care of that after I won 4 tix & the FanFest passes....A night that will never be forgotten...It got the monkey off of the program's back

That was “the moment” things changed.

Clemson “arrived” the moment Dabo Swinney was made interim, then full time head coach. We just didn’t know it yet but he was working his tail off recruiting the Clemson culture/family. CEO Dabo Swinney implemented a plan and it has worked brilliantly ????

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes, that was huge.

We had no idea of the incredible run that was to come.
