I mean, why even put 'It's a Wonderful Life' and 'Pulp Fiction'? They're interchangeable.

Most on I here I appreciate, but I don't think I could really make a list.

Some you don't have:

The Third Man
Sullivan's Travels
Open Range
Breaker Morant

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You have to include all with quotes like this:

Jan 31, 2014, 10:49 AM

"we serve hard drinks to men who want to get drunk fast and don't need no characters around to give the place atmosphere."

Good pull with Breaker Morant. Another that you probably like is 1936's Charge of the Light Brigade with Errol Flynn during the Crimean War.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: My Own Private Idaho

Feb 1, 2014, 12:38 AM

Which Coen brothers movies would you put on there? I like the movies but never care to watch them again. I prefer the Farrelly brothers' movies.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Raising Arizona is in my top 5

Feb 1, 2014, 11:11 AM

But I do see your point. I like all of the a Coen Brothers' movies, but they don't have that "watch again and again" quality that Shawshank, few Good Men, and Godfather have.

I haven't seen many of the Farrell's brothers' movies, and would make the same observation you did about the Coens. The ones I saw were entertaining, but I am in no hurry to see them again. Which of them would you put on the all-time best list?

The original list has zero comedies, though.

Re: Raising Arizona is in my top 5

Feb 1, 2014, 11:59 AM

Oooh, I forgot about a Few Good Men - that is the only movie that if it's on, I watch it until the end no matter where it starts. I was kind of joking about the Farrelly Brothers although Something About Mary, D&Der and Me Myself & Irene are really funny.

I need to see more Coen Brothers movies. I have only seen Fargo and No Country for Old Men. I really liked Fargo. I have been wanting to see the Big Lebowski but didn't realize that was Coen Bros.
