My thoughts on offensive and defensive coordinator position.

Dec 8, 2021, 5:11 PM

Defensive coordinator is bit easier then offensive coordinator. Goodwin apparently learnt from venables. Lot of experience there and so you can say Goodwin learned from the best. So while the defense may have some growing pains if the defense keeps getting stacked with 4 and 5 stars I think we be ok on defense

Offensive coordinator my oh my streeter learned from Elliot and Scott. Obviously Scott left and Elliot many would say did a bad job this year. Face it Georgia and NC state was winnable games had Tony Elliot committed to the running game. So really should be 11-1 with rematch against Pitt and a possible playoff spot. So do we want streeter who learned from inexperience calling the plays. This position is where Dabo needs to hire a outside guy. Willy korn or anyone with fresh ideas who can bring new blood to the offense. But I think streeter at offensive coordinator would be a mistake.

Dabo needs to make Joe Brady tell him no period. This program is elite!

he needs to make a few tell him no before streeter.***

There shouldn't be many really good OC's that would turn down Clemson, ya think. Heck, if Dabo and OLD Ball coach are really that good of friends, ask him to come for a season and give Dabo plenty of time to search. IMO, I don't think that he would make our offense look any worst than it did last season ;).

alot of the play calls were the result of a low confidence in DJ. We had a less than average QB who was inconsistent and honestly the improvement over the year was minimal. Hopefully our QB choice will be much better next year.

Honestly would rather have Willy Korn then Brady, feel like Brady would be a one year rental

Our offense really looked stale this season, so I would hope that new Offensive blood would be what Dabo is looking for next season. Plus, hasn't it been said in the past that our play book was complicated to learn, or was that Kevin Steele's play book?

The offensive staff looks incestual. Full of ex Clemson players who never coached before. Clemson is a top tier program and we should be able to get a top tier OC. Being a good player does not make you a good coach. Some of the ex players were not even good players. I fear that a lot around the nation see Dabo as toxic. He trashed the transfer portal and the NIL. I am not big on either, but if the system changes, you have to adapt, which he did not. He also needs to learn how to be quiet at times, like last year, trashing ohio state before the game. I think that some see Dabo as having an affinity for walk ons and letting people rise to the top inside of a system, two things that he experienced. He needs to understand, when he is making 9 mil a year, it is no longer just a "football game", it is a business and he is the CEO. In the good old days, when coaches didnt make a fortune, you might win two national championships and you would never be fired. This day and time, you can win them and have two or three bad seasons and you will be gone. If he chooses Streeter, the coots will throw a party! Clemson will quickly turn into a mid level ACC team.

Streeter was an OC before he came to Clemson. He coaches under Tony but knew how to be a coordinator before that.
