My thoughts from the Clemson - VT Game Saturday (long)

Oct 22, 2012, 3:58 PM

1. Great win for the Tigers!! On a semi-off day offensively, Tajh and the gang slowly but surely left VT in the dust.

2. The defense stepped up and made themselves a prescence. We actually got edge pressure from the DE's. The secondary played the best they have all year. Shuey looked like an old school slobber-knockin LB. Jonathan Meeks looked liked he was on fast-forward while VT looked like they were on pause during his pick-six. Can this guy return kickoffs and punts for us maybe?!?

3. I sat in the Upper Deck north stands near the WEZ side and there were too many VT ticketholders than there should have been in my opinion. Some were crowing like coots in the first quarter. I got into it with one such fellow after he showed out and pointed at the scoreboard with a 7-0 VT lead. I threw the famous Dabo quote his way and proceeded to rile up & rowdyfy my Orange-blooded kin all around us. Needless to say he got a bowlfull of shuttie stew when we went up 17-7 on them and never looked back.

4. Upon watching the coverage on espn I nearly threw up in my mouth listening to one of the two announcers side with VT on virtually every close call. CLEARLY, there was in no way incontroverable evidence to indicate a fumble by Sammy. The ball did not lose contact with his body until after he hit the ground. I've seen this go against Clemson plenty of times and thats just the way the ball bounces (or doesn't bounce).

5. Seeing the shots from the MetLife Blimp of our fair Alama Mater reminded me of just how beautiful Clemson is, and how lucky we all are to be Alumni, Students, Fans and residents of this great little slice of heaven.

I remember sitting in the upper deck when they beat us in '07. I've hated their fans ever since then. VT fans are a lot like Coot fans. Very obnoxious and think their program is on par with Alabama. They have no national titles, but got cocky after winning the ACC a few times. I enjoyed looking up in the fourth quarter and seeing the Hokies all file out from the upper deck.

Well that is where we put the visiting team. It is either there or down in the lower deck....They are entitled to those tickets if they want them

Probably that Ed Cunningham. I really don't like him announcing our games. He always seems to go against us. He also did the Georgia Tech game.
