My thoughts from last night (way too long)...

Sep 4, 2016, 9:10 AM

Just woke up after a whopping 4 hours of sleep and have a much different view of last night than a lot of people on the board. So if you'll indulge me...

1. Deshaun's first quarter had me wondering if he developed a case of Tahj Boyd's 1st Quarter Flu. Turns out he and the WRs didn't have the timing down on the Come Back route. That's probably the toughest route to get right...and as we saw in the second half, it's definitely the toughest to defend. That first half inaccuracy will win us at least 2 more games this year.

2.Wayne Gallman is a grown ### man. He gets a bye from me for running out of bounds based on the fact he put up 100+ yards on one of the top 10 DLs in the country. At one point Auburn's entire DL were 5 Star guys out of high school.

3. White Chocolate version 3.0 is testament to what the love of the game can mean to someone that doesn't have the measurables to get major college offers. I, for one, don't give a #### if Dabo gives a Scholly to a coach's DAUGHTER one year as long as he keeps trusting his gut on dudes like Hunter Renfrow.

4. It would take Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung, Dr. Phil, 2 faith healers and a snake handling Pentacostal minister from the hills of West Virginia to exorcise the demons out of the heads of the Auburn LBs after having to deal with our Double Fullback formation with #42 and #90. 700lbs of beef barreling towards you??? I'd rather be a 12 year old on a spa day with Jerry Sandusky.

5. Brent Venables is worth those 2 fullbacks' weight in gold.

6. #4 is not only fast, smart, and cool...he's strong. He put that DB on the f@&$ing ground with that stiff arm.

7. Auburn's atmosphere....meh.

The eagle is kinda cool the first time you see it. The speakers blaring the band in front of every section should be outlawed. 80,000 men shaking pompoms is just gay.

8. Auburn's female population is the NC State of the SEC. Definitely not Ole Miss, Bama, Florida quality for #### sure.

9. Mike Williams - glad to have you back brother. It's hard to believe but if last night is any indication, you may just be better than Sammy and Nuk.

10. Watching Gus Malzahn play QB Roulette last night made me glad The Chad left town. HS coaches that jump to such lofty ranks so soon are a potential issue. They still think it's their system not the talent that wins championships. Gus, visor or no visor, you're no Steve Spurrier.

11. Sometimes you take your ugly win, get your ### on the bus and get the hell outta dodge. Last night was one of those times.

1 down 13 more to Tampa.

Good points. Very mixed bag overall.

True road game, real SEC team, real SEC talent. Big win. We could not have done that a few years ago.

OTOH, some disappointing decisions by some of our veteran players as well as some huge plays. And some players did not play to their potential.

We have 2 games to work it out before we start the heart of the schedule.

I hate to put this on Watson

BUT, he did the same thing last year.
It took 4 or 5 very very medicore games to get himself going. And I felt he didn't play
his best last night.
I suspect a couple months from now, we'll forget all this. But last night he didn't play
very well.....IMHO.
