My take on the OBS

Initially when he went to scar he downplayed the rivalry but after not winning the SEC and with what I truly believe scar's best days behind them, I think he is turning his attention to his success against Clemson.
He knows that even if he never wins the SEC but has a nice streak against Clemson then there's really not much the fan base can say. Sure they will be disappointed but given their lack of historical success, he will never be on the hot seat. They will convince themselves that their lack of SEC titles is because auburn cheated and/or because they play in the toughest conference, etc.
He is "preparing" the fan base and reminding them constantly about Clemson in a way to placate them when it starts to go down hill. I believe scar will have a down year. They lost more coaches and lost a ton of defensive talent.
Not to mention, I think he really tries to get in the head of other coaches and get a knee jerk response. I hope Dabo just stays focused and doesnt respond to that egomaniac. Let's take it to them in November and shut them up once and for all. GO TIGERS

He didn't start talking about Clemson until Dabo went on his rant.

You are wrong......Dabo was responding to him saying, "We sure aint Clemson." Todd Ellis quoted Spurrier as saying that to him the week of the Clemson SCar game. Either Todd lied or SOS lied...Either way Dabo was responding!!

coots memories may be short but for 4 years their football team has not come up short. dabo needs to worry about beating spurrier rather than matching rants and getting into a war of words. beating him on the football field is the best response dabo could have and will shut him and their fans up. i would much rather win the football game than the press conferences. just DO it and dont TALK about it. dabo needs to stop and remember how it looks when you talk smack and then lose.

You have your facts wrong. Spurrier said, "we aren't Alabama or LSU". Todd Ellis added the Clemson part. Spurrier never even said that to Todd.
Then of course, Dabo decided to goob it up in front of the cameras with a staged rant, and start this off the field rivalry that he can't back up on the field.

Well, DA, your school attributed the quote to Sack, and Ball

didn't deny it until after the fact. So what was Dabo supposed to think? He didn't start anything.
Oh, and the "rant" wasn't staged. He was asked a question by a reporter, and after chastising him for even asking the question, he answered. And it was a factual "rant" at that.

Sack can't win the SEC and he knows it. He's been taking two weeks to prepare for Clemson for 4 or 5 years. Clemson is CLEARLY Ball's #1 priority, and when he said Clemson didn't matter, he was FOS. But then again, that's just what he is.

I think he has a very tiny little wee-wee and has to compensate any way he can.

Stevie will B gone Sooner than Later since 67 freaking years

old ( I know how that feels since I'm almost 72, and the juices & competitiveness dwindles as it should..especially due to realizing there's more to life than Sports/Winning at all cost/and USC where he has no real love for.
Yes, he's done more than virtually every other big-name HFBC has done there..and I applaud him for hanging in there with that no real football history school..but he will retire soon..after 2013 or 2014 (IMO).
But, be beware of this since USC has learned (better than us almost every time) that it's best to spend the big bucks up front and get a highly qualified big-name HC (Paul Ditezel, Lou Holtz, etc)..so to get those desired wins faster and energize the fan & money base.
Saying, they will find someone as good or even better than Steve..and the Tigers will still be in the gun sights big time...but hey, bring on the competition since it's making us better.
GoTiGERs!

own glory. From the 5th place rings with his name plastered on one side to his recent rant about EZPN, he sounds like a guy who's losing his grip on sanity. He thinks he's a big farging deal to everybody. Truth is, he's never been as big as he once was ever since leaving UF. He probably wishes he had stayed there all along. Total failure in the NFL and knows he'll never do at USuCk what he was able to do at UF.
