When is the US going to start freezing the personal assets

Mar 13, 2022, 7:03 PM

of "our oligarchs"...? (You know, the Bankstas, Wall Street/Congressional inside traders, Govt. contractors/lobbyists with their 'cost overruns', etc.)

I forgot... That might pull back the curtain on that false holy grail of CAPITALISM.

is this how you tell yourself it's okay you are a failure? ...That everyone else has cheated to get what they have but you don't cheat so you don't have?

pathetic.

Mar 13, 2022, 7:11 PM

by his definition, if you do not have a yacht, you are a failure? Does this mean we are all failures, or that the finance sector has been ripping us off for the better party of 40 years? DO you like taking it in the pooper by Harvard grads that have never done a day of real work in their life, but buy 2nd and third homes by skimming off everyone else? Should we all get on our knees because we are "failures", or maybe we can stop bickeringover stupid shit and do something about it?

Now I am not talking about getting rid of capitalism, but installing some structural changes that level the playing field might be helpful?

a bunch of folks will starve under your plan

My plan is to reign in the finance sector

Mar 13, 2022, 7:56 PM [ in reply to Re: When is the US going to start freezing the personal assets ]

we are not on the same page here. It should not be risky to start a business, although really it is not. If you have access to prime rates on a loan, these days you can make money by borrowing. You and I do not get these sweet .7% loans because we do not know the right people.

Re: I am not sure what plan you are tlaking about

at least we are talking now. How about we first start by eliminating fees in our retirement accounts? It is all done by computer. Did you know that if you are paying over 2% to manage your 401k, you are taking a gigantic d!ck in the as? They are literally taking 30% of your total retirement away from you to do nothing. How does that make you feel?

While not often in agreement with you @Tigerbalm1®, your structural changes in the financial market are long long overdue.

This isn't a shot at capitalism, but rather a shot at crony capitalism.

Does anyone remember TBTF (Too Big To Fail)? While the big investment banks complain about it now, back from 2008 through 2011 / 2012? GE got bailed out by the US Gov't to the tune of $139B (yes, Billion).
That's a lot of tacos.

GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt, a registered Republican, quipped "We're all Democrats now."

Anyone got a guess as to why GE's NBC News business (which back before Obama became president had already slanted to the liberal side) became a full-on propaganda network for the Democrats? Because NBC News was a rounding error on GE's books compared to influx of money over which the Democrat administration had provided.

This example is meant to illustrate an example of crony capitalism, and the 'new USA' in which both the Republicans (as the original Crony Capitalists) and the Democrats (the new guard Crony Capitalists) stack the deck like never before against politically-un-connected Americans.

This needs to change, but with both Republicans and Democrats being beneficiaries, then how / who makes this change?

OK, Boss. No, skip that. I haven't used that word in 40 yrs

Mar 13, 2022, 7:27 PM [ in reply to Re: When is the US going to start freezing the personal assets ]

Other than some medical bill I'm waiting to clear the 'insurance delay', I don't owe ANYBODY ANYTHING.

I built my own house cash. I've always bought my family's vehicles cash. I bought my Airstream and 'sporting goods' cash.

I worked for myself as a builder for over 35 years. You got the wrong MFer, MFer...

Apparently in America “oligarchs” are:
Tea party members
Truckers
People with more than one American flag
Non-vaxxers
Moms that attend school board meetings
Trump paraders

No, those are today's radicals.***

Fed Reserve means govt owns all property

and therefore we don't have a free market. You can argue about the definition of capitalism and what it really means, but I just care about freedom, and the Federal Reserve is the single biggest economic embargo on freedom

Did you know that the Federal Reserve invented gravity? They did it to keep people from flying. They're also controlling the sun. They make the temperature change throughout the year. They also control how tall people are. Yup, set by the Federal Reserve. The Chairman and the board of governors, that are picked by the President and confirmed by the Senate, aren't really the one's making the decisions. There are really other people making the decisions. It's not the one percent either. Yep, you guessed it. It's the people that live in the center of the Earth that are really in control.

“GIVE me control of a nation's money supply, and I care not who makes its laws.”

This isn't a conspiracy or some crazy story like you so cleverly alluded to. It's just a reality most people don't want to acknowledge because they are more comfortable being asleep.

No. Just because a country has a currency, doesn't mean they have ownership of everything.

Now, that doesn't mean that I don't think the Fed Reserve has enormous power through what they can do (Fed funds rate and FOMC). They certainly do, but they get credited with a lot more than they actually control. One of my favorites is when congressional members, during oversight hearings, ask the Fed Chairman what the FR is doing about fiscal policy.

(Trying this again) ...

What me worry CharlestonTom®?

The Federal Reserve is supporting all of those freshly printed virtual US Dollars which are backed by "the full faith and credit" of the United States Government.

We can all breathe easily now.
