They have been there since the stadium opened in 1998. The stadium sits on what used to be a huge railyard. The cabooses are in honor of the past. The huge horn that you will blow during many of our scores tonight ;) ......is the original horn that blew for shift and lunch breaks there.

The L&N railway is a huge part of Louisville tradition. All of my extended family is there and I was born in Louisville (thank God my parents moved to SC when I was two!). Trains are a huge part of that town's culture so it doesn't surprise me they have cabooses at the stadium. Now, why usuck has them is a mystery to me bc other than crime I can't really name anything that's a huge part of the Columbia culture...
