What say ye, Jounge? Normal? Or real fuggin' weird?

The wimmens had Girls' Weekend in Edisto. One of my goodest buds has what I believe to be a very controlling wife. He doesn't think so, but I think there's either some Stockholm Syndrome happening, or they just got married so young that he was trained to believe some of this stuff is normal at a young age.
Two key examples from the weekend:
1. His wife took the 4 door Wrangler to Edisto, and left him and the three kids with his tiny Toyota beater pickup. IF he clears out the small seats in the back, which are usually full of junk, he could PROBABLY squeeze the 3 of them into the truck. Not sure if they'd all have seatbelts or not. I'd say that is a pretty clear indication that she didn't want him to drive anywhere with the kids without her supervision, even though he claims she didn't express any opinions on it (I don't believe it). I suggested getting together on Friday at one of our houses, because for one of the few times in our lives, we wouldn't have to spend hours cleaning for the mother that would be coming over to visit, along with her husband and kids who don't care, even a little, how clean a house it. He used some mealymouthed excuse about one of the kids being tired from a late Thursday game, and had practice early on Saturday (which he skipped, I heard). What I'm hearing are cries for help from a beaten down man, but maybe I'm wrong.
2. The wife got their 11 year old a phone last year, and they installed whatever software/app that gives them visibility of everything their daughter does, texts, views, etc. I guess as part of that app being installed...it also gives at least some of the same visibility of and to the admin phones (the parents). Don't know if it's the same level of visibility as with the daughter's phone, but she can definitely see where he is geographically at all times (or where his phone is, anyway). As relayed by 19She, she instructed him to go get in the car line at 1:15 to pick up the kids from school, in the essentially 2 seater truck. She was monitoring on the phone:
"Why is he leaving at 1? That's too early." "He drove right past the school. Where is he going?" "He's at Taco Bell? Well, that's just great." "Wait, he drove right back by the school and he's going home?! He doesn't have time to eat Taco Bell at home now!"
Maybe this is normal, but yikes...I wouldn't be ok with that level of supervision. I think she's a control freak, and he does his best to downplay it if any of us hints at that. Are 19She and I the weird ones and everybody else hawks their spouses every movement?

She's a social climber and didn't want "the girls" to think she was a pewr, showing up to the girls weekend in a beater truck.

The same people who use an app like that to obsessively stalk and control their spouse probably does about a thousand other crazyass things on a daily basis. Normal people can use them without being a control freak.

Whenever I hear about spouses tracking each other on phones, or if they have joint Facebook accounts, all I'm hearing and seeing there is, "I don't trust my spouse and our relationship isn't as healthy as we pretend it is."
W T F happened that makes you have to track your husband like you're the ####### NSA?
My wife and I would have a pretty boring time with it.
Her: "Oh, you're at happy hour/drinking at this neighbor's house... again."
Me: "Oh, you're spending too much #### at Target again."

#### poor job of managing expectations from the start results in your bawlz being in a vice for the duration of your marriage.
i get realy giddy and excited when I get to hang out w/ my wife's friends who are controlling and think they're the ####. one of my favorite exercises is bringing them down a few notches

in themselves, but her use of them seems self serving to the extreme. I would insist that my wife take the car she prefers to the beach, and I guess knowing where each other is is okay. But assuming and tracking are issues that exist independent of cars and phones.
But we all know that some people are very controlling, and people who need that in their lives tend to marry those types. He's probably not as miserable as we think.

apparently when you're on snapchat maps it sets your location based on what wifi network you ping off of.
Anyways, I'm at home. Wife of asks me where I've been that day. Um.. work and home. Like usual. Come to find out when I was on the way home I opened snapchat, it pinged off of a wifi network at somebody's house. I closed out of snapchat. Which left me at the house. Even though I was driving by it.
She starts getting insecure. She does some sleuthing, sees who lives at that house. I tell her to contact the ol' girl and ask if I've been there. She doesn't. Instead she leaves, gets her friend and they drive by the house (???).
She comes back. I ask if she went to the house. She says she did. I asked if she knocked on the door and asked the woman if I've been there. She didn't.
I tell her to go back and knock and talk to the woman. She doesn't. She says that my insistence on her talking to the woman makes her believe nothing was going on.
We drop it.
Anyways bishes be crazy.

is good. I am assuming she was glad there was nothing, rather than mad she didn't have a smoking gun.
I don't know what it is about MissTulsa, but nothing bothers her. Small reunions at beach where an old girlfriend attends, unexplained absences, nothing. Makes for peaceful existence, but dang.
My running shoes can connect to maymyrun. No, no, and no. Aint happening. Except when I get new ones I might connect the old ones and drop them by somebody's house.

go for it. I'll take the kids and half your #### and we'll move on.
I trust her. I don't have a problem with her going out with her friends etc.
However, she also makes it really easy because she never goes anywhere.
She has 2-3 friends that she goes over to their house etc. but mostly she's a homebody. Those 2-3 friends are married to great guys that I know personally so it's not like she's out clubbing etc.

A woman caught cheating won't automatically remove her from getting custody. It probably won;t even matter. The courts still believe the children are better with the female. Your job will only be factored in for child support and/or alimony payments.
SC is basically a no fault divorce state, which means that if she is caught cheating, all it means is that she probably won't get alimony.

Billy-and-Mindy-Gates deals seem to be a divorceable (that's not a word) issue that has always been there and one party simply can't do it anymore. In their case, I am guessing that he is twice the entitled know-it-all inside the house than he is outside. She stood it for years, hoping that after age 65 he would start to back off, but he's getting worse. One day she looked in the mirror and thought, "You've spent 40 years waiting, and you've 10 more left", and she was gone. Is my take on it, anyway. If not that, it was something else like that. Sorry, digressing.
Yes, you know who your wife is. And she knows you. Is sweet she got a little worried. She needs a hug.

As we reach a more mature age, there should be more options than a 4 door Jeep and a beater truck. There is nothing wrong with a beater truck but it should never be the only option for getting spied on while trying to eat some Taco Bell.
Also did you tell him he was being watched like that?

Here's what both examples REALLY are:
May 4, 2021, 11:25 AM
|
|
1. In an instagram world, it's all about how she looks and is perceived. So you take the jeep to the beach because #saltlyfe y #jeeplyfe
2. Phone addiction. Can't put it down long enough to enjoy the beach. Ran out of insta/face/snap scrolling, so on to the next app. Blurts out what she reads, because dumbbeyotch.
Her phone addiction is driving both. And she cray. I bet she's either a) a stay at home mom or b) cuts hair.
