My honest season prediction 2025

08/30 - #8 LSU
Brian Kelly is going into next season with severe urgency. He is going to be in “try hard” mode next year. Cade is going to be the best QB in the country going into next season. But Garrett Nusmeier has been labeled 2nd best.
I can see this like 2013 Georgia game when our offense just kind of overwhelmed them. They’re a good team, but not on Clemson’s level. LSU might punch us in the mouth early, but Cade and defense settles in.
24-14 Clemson W (1-0)
09/06 - Troy
Win (2-0)
09/13 - @GT
Haynes King will be back I think, and Brent Key is finding how to run a winning culture at GT. They are gritty and not a pushover anymore
Not to even mention that they’ve been stealing our highly rated recruits from us, yes they are gaining traction
And have proved it by gettting some huge wins like Miami and almost Georgia too. And more
This will be tricky, and it will be a very strange game.
If you remember the 2016 season to start against Auburn and GT, we started slow. So much hype and expectation for Deshaun and the defense. Yet they were slow getting going.
It could be similar start to the season
34- 17 Clemson W (3-0)
The score will not explain how much GT was in the game.
09/20 - Syracuse
Syracuse and Fran Brown…we thank you
But, y’all are losing Kyle McCord, and will beat your a** next year
49-21 Clemson W (4-0)
The coming out party of domianace for this Clemson team. At the valley, I can just see it now.
I can envision Cade dropping bombs on Syracuse on a sunny day, against a Kyle McCordless Syracuse.
And the defense allows some garbage time TD….LIKE ALWAYS
10/04 - @UNC
You know the fans are going to show up for this one. And this is very hard to tell.
I would predict UNC is still obviously going to have some difficulties on defense and some overall hardships.
I think it will be a big time game for our running game and our o line.
A slower game, not as high scoring as you would think.
Clemson’s defense will dominate.
Clemson dominates the trenches in this game. By far.
21-0 Clemson W (5-0)
10/11 - @BC
Kind of similar to UNC. Clemson owns the trenches here and BC won’t have enough creativity to figure out how to beat a dominant team like Clemson.
Cold, and Clemson runs the ball well again. Not having to do too much in a slow game. Letting our defense handle business.
34-10 Clemson W (6-0)
10/18 - SMU
Probably the first threatening offense since Georgia Tech. And definitely since the best QB we’ll play since the LSU game with Nussmier.
This one will be interesting. And we may even get down at some times.
But, I see the Clemson defense regaining its mold in late game performance like we used to see.
Clemson is going to HAVE to be more aggressive than they were last year against Kevin Jennings.
And this is true for another QB we play later on the season. Bet you can guess who.
But our offense is surging at this point, running the ball good as well as the pass game. I see our receivers being to much for them.
Clemson 31-20 W (7-0)
11/01 - Duke
This is a dangerous game. Coming off an intense game and win against SMU, also being back at home, it’s going to be incredibly important for Clemson to keep their focus.
Duke has obtained QB Darian Mensah from Tulane out of the transfer portal.
This Tulane transfer QB is getting paid $8 million over 2 years. I believe he is the highest paid player (per year) now. It’s unreal that Duke is the team that could do this.
So….this QB must be pretty good. Duke beat us the last time we played.
Duke has gained a little traction in football.
But, Clemson is simply too much after a slower start.
31-14 Clemson W (8-0)
11/08 - FSU
Norvell is like Brian Kelly, about the same amount of urgency to get some real success.
They give a good game more often than not.
At this point, our offense should be going at a level that’s unstoppable for ACC teams like this.
I don’t really see how Florida State matches up though. Clemson pulls away in 2nd half, after a little shaky start because of Florida State’s aggressiveness.
Clemson 35-10 W (9-0)
11/14 (Friday night) - @Louisville
Yep, this is an obvious trap game. Very late in the season. On Friday, at night. In Week 11.
Thanks Jim Phillips
Clemson has vengeance for Louisville though.
And I think we roll on this night.
45-17 Clemson W (10-0)
11/22 - Furman
56-3 Clemson W
11/29 - @Scocks
If Clemson is 11-0 at this point, they’d be ranked top-3 at least.
Carolina has to play @LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma, @Ole Miss, @Mizzou, and Clemson
They will have at the least 2 losses. I’d be surprised if it weren’t at least 3.
This will be a tough game. A game where the critical plays mean the most.
Sellers is going to do his thing, but like I said before, Clemson defense had to get back to being aggressive against these QBs.
If Clemson is able to rid the little 6-yard check downs and limit the creative plays by Sellers, it will help tremendously.
And I think just that.
I believe Tom Allen makes this defense aggressive and more sound again. And we will be able to put pressure on Sellers and force a couple (or more) turnovers.
Clemson wins this game late in the 4th. I don’t know which situation it will be, but I think the team we have coming back with their experience will be better at the critical downs and making athletic plays. Clemson is the better team.
20-14 Clemson W (12-0)
ACC Championship - Miami
I think Carson Beck is a really good QB. Regardless of whatever anybody thinks.
I’ve always been the person to laugh hysterically at Miami’s shortcomings
But I can’t lie Carson Beck is a junkyard dog. And he will give 110%, not like Cam Ward.
I think Clemson and Miami both are in the 12-team playoff regardless of the result of this game.
I think this will go as a great playoff game would.
And I see a late game stop to win it by the Clemson defense. Maybe an interception, or maybe a goal line stand to win it. But that’s how I see it.
Clemson 28-24 W (13-0)

So we win every regular season game except 1 by double-digits. Coming from the same guy who predicted an all-time record in baseball last season.

One thing I am going to say about that baseball prediction is that we were 100% good enough to be a 50-win team.
They just hit some mental barriers.
Which is how losing happens too, but sometimes they don’t and teams have incredible seasons that never stop.
Teams have those seasons, and we looked like that type of team.
We were like 18-1 or something at the point I posted it.
In regards to football, yeah our team is supposed to be that good.
If we get through GT 3-0, which I imagine so, I see Clemson favored by double digits in every game until South Carolina.
Not because everybody in between GT and SCar on our schedule sucks, but because Clemson is genuinely that good.
Louisville and SMU are the only 2 teams I see that have a chance at being less than double digit underdogs going into the game.
That depends on if they both pan out similarly, better, or worse.
We know what Clemson brings to the table. And now you’ve added Will Heldt, Tristan Smith, etc.

One could hope. LSU game IMO will be much higher scoring. LSU from a recruiting perspective is talented- very talented. Allen’s first game as DC will be an adjustment game. I agree we win . I could see a 34-28 / 34-31 type game.
LVille is a game “today” that I cannot get into to. Friday night trap.

Excellent analysis you laid out for Clemson’s successful 2025 season. IMO it’s more difficult to make accurate predictions because of NIL and the TP. With so many dollars floating around, you never know when a team is going to purchase wins right out from under a legitimate program. For example the coots may finally buy their way up the SEC ladder. Because of NIL the coots may finally game has now become more of a toss up game. The coots want to win so bad that will do whatever it takes now that college football has become the Wild Wild West ! Your are correct GT is finally spending a lot more money on their football program. Like the coots, GT could buy their way up the ACC ladder.
Unfortunately each year college football aka pay for play is losing HC’s who run programs where coaches want to win games, but there main focus is to build a kid into a good man.
After every season I have concerns that Dabo will step like Saban. I worry that Dabo like Terry and Nick Saban will feel his efforts are no longer worth competing with the millions of dollars players now have access to.
I posted a video a few weeks ago that even the mothers are asking about how much money their son can make playing for Bama.
Before NIL Kirk Herbstreit was all about Dabo and the positive culture he was building at Clemson. Now he constantly talks about a players financial value to a program and the revenue sharing players qualify for.
I hope Clemson ends up 12-0 and wins the National Championship in 2025. If Clemson does win the NC in 2025 do you think it will be Dabo’s last season. ???? I hope we steam roll over the coots 🐅

As far as Dabo leaving, I think he will leave only if it gets worse, not if it gets better
If Clemson actually wins another championship under Dabo, he will then pursue further and try to climb that mountain.
It’s still crazy Clemson played 4 national championships in a 5-year span.
It’s not totally 100% about the players you can compile onto your team.
I think Clemson has shown just about how good you can be, as a team with a bad DC and no portal usage.
Clemson has been going through its rebooting process.
A lot of programs are soon going to be able to give lots of money to players because of the new revenue distribution.
So the money thing will even out sooner than later in my opinion.
Plus, you saw Clemson make the playoff. Whether or not there was luck from Miami losing, Clemson beat SMU.
And you can argue that Clemson may have beaten Texas if they had a real defensive coordinator.
Also, South Carolina has been getting better. And they’re beating Clemson again.
But, their schedule dooms them every year.

I'll wait to guess outcomes until after the next portal season. There's just no way to know how good some of these teams will be until you know who is on their roster.
LSU will be talented but will be starting a new O-line. I can see that being a huge issue for them and a potential for the Clemson defensive line to feast on their QB.

We're going to drop at least one to SMU, GT, Duke, Louisville, or Coots.
Until proven otherwise, we are going to be decimated at one position with injuries that will lead to an unexpected loss.
Big question at the RB position too.

LSU QB is very good..USC QB is very good..yada-yada-yada..but so is ours.
Comes down to top level performance each game from both sides of the ball, injuries, uncertainty of but finding a viable RB, team mojo, road trips being managed well by staff & players, desire & luck.
Saying..0 losses are always possible by Clemson but today’s game had only ONE of those Hotdogs in 2024 (Oregon) and they burned out quickly in the CFP.
So, as our astute Coach stresses..play ONE team at a time!

We will have a solid O-Line with a veteran talented QB, 3 legitimately elite WR's combined with what should be a vastly improved defense. All that on a team coming off an ACC title and playoff birth. So yea, expectations SHOULD be high. Very high. There likely isnt a team on the schedule we wouldnt be favored against today.

THATS what I said to another response
LSU, we won’t be favored by double digits because it’s first game and it’s a top-ranked SEC opponent
These following teams have a chance at being underdogs by less than 10 points to Clemson: SMU, Louisville, SCar
That depends on how their season pans out.

I like your optimism and also believe this is possible. One thing to add. You start with some concerns about the Duke game being potentially dangerous. You didn’t mention that this game comes after a week off and that adds some concern because historically we have not played well after a week off. Same goes for the UNC game. Just one more point that makes these games a little scary.

My take on the LSU game is an either or. Either the game comes right down to the wire with a 20-17 Clemson hard fought win Or we go in and prove we are a top 4 team and handily beat them in their own house by 2 touchdowns.

You've given best case result for every game. CFB has shown that over the course of 12 weeks, you will never get the best case result. Last I checked, Louisville kicked our a. SMU had us on the ropes. SC and Texas exposed the run D, etc... I don't think the separation that you seem to exist, is as wide as you think.
On paper, they can beat everyone but I don't think it will happen

on the offensive line. We were better last year than the year before, but Cade still did not have time to look around and find receivers most of the time. A lot of plays were made on the move, by necessity as the pocket collapsed. If Cade has time to look around like Joe Burrow did against us in 2019, LOOK OUT!

I like the way you analized each game. Stout Defense in 2025 and hopefully Dabo, Riley, and Cade on same page with Luke's much improved O-Line coupled with 3 or 4 ace receivers and TE throw in surprise running back I could see Clemson undefeated regular 2025 season.
