now that it is clear we are leaving...

May 24, 2012, 9:16 PM

I am happy about whatever is good for Clemson Football, and it is exciting to think about the new games/rivalries etc, but I feel like this is a divorce. There are some cool ACC memories that are tough to forget. What are some of your memories that you will miss. (Flamers: This is not an argument to stay, it is only acknowledging where we have been). Here are some of mine:

1. Thunder and Lightning game, or just about any other G-tech game in the past decade.
2. Trips to Charlottesville. Still the most amazing University grounds I have ever seen.
3. getting in 4 road trips in a single season.
4. the ear-splitting sound at the Miami game.
5. 28 point come back against UNC

The Miami game was the greatest game I ever attended! I

can't believe I'm saying that about a game we lost, but it was amazing!

It was that. And I think that anyone that was there will have to agree with you. I certainly do!!!

I actually think Miami was scared. Still felt like the croud

I know.

This post is about the fun we have had. Doesn't hurt to think about.

I will miss Vtech, MIAMI, UVA, Gtech, NC State, BC, FSU? (I assume they are coming)

I will not miss:
UNC, Duke, Wake, Maryland

I would have liked to get a few games in Pittsburg. Maybe time it so I could see the Steelers play the next day and get the whole experience

I have been to Syracuse Carrier dome to watch a game. I don't think I would need to go back.

how is it clear that we are leaving?

Sorry if I missed it, just didn't quite get that vibe from the BOT meeting...

You gotta be kidding me***

Yeah, I'm really gonna miss...

Ron Cherry, Karl Hess, John Swofford and contributing enough money to keep this sham of a conference stable.

Correction on the 28 point comeback

May 24, 2012, 9:31 PM

It was at UVA not UNC.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

May 24, 2012, 9:34 PM

"5. 28 point come back against UNC"

Wasn't that against UVA? I had a professor at Clemson that semester who got his BS and PhD from UVA. Someone wrote the 29-28 score on a piece of paper and stuck it to his projector screen before the class the Monday after the game.

The recent ACC championship win was another great memory.

The Greg Buckner dunk to beat UNC in the ACC Basketball Tournament.

Clemson's miracle upset of FSU in 2003.

Last second dunk to beat VT on Clemson's Senior Day.

Willy Simmons coming in for an injured Danzler and throwing 5 TD passes to win at UNC.

Catching FSU's defense off guard with a quick count at the end of the 2006 game to set up the game-winning TD.

Florida State game 2009 at home - We WIll Rock You. Georgia Tech game at home in 2006? when we were all purple with Thunder and Lightning. Those were the loudest games and most fun games I have ever been to.

Also, the Boston College game at home when Aaron Kelly dropped the pass and Matt Ryan made his was a pretty good one. Funny how all of these are night games...

1984 The flip card game

May 24, 2012, 10:31 PM

Beating VT 17 - 10

1988 the punt rooski game losing 21 - 24. I met Danny for my 1st time at the Holiday Inn, Anderson on game day AM.

Don't recall the year but it was an undefeated 6-0 cocky NC St team with #### Sheridan and they were drilled by the Tigers. I recalled their fans shooting us birds going to CU.

1997 Charlie Ward rallied from behind 28 - 35. Gut wrenching.
