I feel like the majority of this board believe in Christ and the Gospel, that He came and died on a cross for our sins, and arose on the 3rd day now sitting at the right hand of the Father. With that faith we have hope in seeing our loved ones again when they believe and call on Christ to save them. I rejoice that one day we will be there for eternity. I pray for your family and know that God will hold your family in His loving arms. I pray for the peace of God to reign in your lives and be happy about all of the good times you've had. I pray for no pain for this man. I pray for maybe just one person to be changed for the better because of the legacy left behind. In Jesus' name I pray all of these things. AMEN

You didn't ask for advice, but I'll give you a peace that my father left with us:
"Everything has a reason, and it's all in God's plan".
We found this on a note he left for us on his bedside.

Blake, our family knows what you are experiencing. My Dad--1941 Class--passed away 12/14/2008. He was the first of 17 of our family who later attended Clemson.
Your Dad is a great man and I know he will surely be missed, as my Dad is. Cherish your memories and they will help you through this time.

I have mentioned this to a number of fellow Tigers that have lost their Tiger father or G-father - If you loved one did not specifically request to be buried with their Clemson class ring on (assuming they have one), do not bury that ring. It is an enduring artifact of their being a son of Clemson. God bless you and yours in this time of sadness and loss. May you all find piece and comfort in knowing your loved one is in the presence of God.
