Is that he was promised you come in and do a good job and you’re our next defensive Coordinator when Ted Roof retires in a couple of years. If he stayed at Clemson that wasn’t happening with Goodwin (38 years old). Bates knows 99% of all head coaches come from Coordinator positions and he has expressed to Dabo he wants to be a head coach one day.
