This is really well done by the committee.
There is really no excuse for Trump’s claims that there was election fraud, and certainly no reason for him to continue to perpetuate that myth.

election is not illegal, and never will be. Lying by a president, or any other politician or citizen is not illegal, and never will be. Trump disputing the results of the election and/or lying about it is not illegal.
Storming the capitol, breaching capitol security, fighting with police, assault and battery, trespassing, breaking and entering, and on and on, there are a whole string of crimes there.
Those are two entirely separate things, and the former is not responsible for the latter. Period.

Yep I’m gonna run out in the street and yell FIRE because you know, it’s free speech and all. There is no doubt that cat knew he lost but couldn’t accept being a loser. In his family that just wasn’t acceptable so he just went ahead and said if I lose the election it HAD to be stolen.

They ran them during the day so they wouldn’t be going up against the NBA finals. Gotta try for max ratings.
They should rename them the “Hey Look Over There” hearings since their main purpose is to distract from the awful job the dems have done running the country the last 2 years.

Trumpers are so gullible it’s comical. It unfortunately comes fine to an IQ issue. You gotta be fairly gullible and stupid to still be a Trump supporter.
I have a tiny shred of understanding for someone who supported him four or five years ago, but then over time realized it’s all a big con. But to still support this guy is flat out comical. Sad for those that do.

Stop. Please. I really hate this kind of invective.
It isn't an "IQ issue". There's plenty of really bright Trump supporters out there, who support him for reasons I often at least partially agree with. I personally just couldn't get past his personal attributes, and the notion - which January 6th absolutely confirmed - that Trump regarded himself as far bigger than either the country or democracy itself. He was a would-be despot, no different than Mussolini or Franco, trying a Banana Republic populist revolution right here in the US.
The fact that he got so far is a red-flag warning of much deeper issues here.
Supporting Trump is a philosophical issue, and often an emotional one. I certainly wouldn't regard his followers as "evil" though they've been radicalized in ways they themselves often seem to not see, mostly because they have Fox News and conservative media blaring it's OK every day. There's two main issues he was playing on, and they're whoppers: one is the near-constant assault on both traditional American family structure and values, and the villification of anything white, male, and often just successful, the other's the constant downtick in the lot of the working man the out of touch - I don't want to say "elites", but often just "privileged" - seem to not understand.
The top half of America has been booming the last 3-4 decades. Big Tech's doing awesome. Doctors, lawyers, politicians, academics, corporate officers...they're doing as well or better as they ever have. Urban white-collar America is doing great.
The working man's taken it in the teeth. Ask any farmer, factory worker, or truck driver how their year (or last 2-3 decades!) has gone. Their jobs got sent to Southeast Asia and the jobs that are left are crap jobs. The banks and freaking Monsanto squeeze the farmers harder every year. The truckers are getting annihilated by unfair 1099 gigs and exploitable lease-to-own schemes that make title loansharking look ethical. It goes on and on.
At the same time, these working-class (and usually white) Americans are facing a flood of illegal immigrants chipping away at their already-shrinking share of the pie because they'll work for cheaper, a wave of "wokism" that actually talks about reparations - and taking even MORE of their shrinking resources - away in the name of "racial equality", and, sorry, the promotion of "alternative" lifestyles and sexuality that do threaten the notion of the traditional nuclear family that remains vital for, you know, the continuation of the human race.
There's nothing wrong with being gay or trans. But it does leave a hole in the next gen where your kids would have been, too. Just from a numbers standpoint if too many people go gay, the species, you know, dies out.
So these folks ask the obvious question: what about us? And it makes it really easy for a populist like Trump to come along and sell his brand of anger and bile and venom and pure distorted BS. Because there are some very real underlying issues that aren't being looked at or addressed, and tomorrow does not look better than today.
You wanna know why there's a big gaping schism right down the middle of America between the white working class and everybody else? That's it, right there. And it really has nothing to do with "low IQ's."

I hear ya, But I think you’re giving Trump a little too much credit, Trump proposes very little in terms of policy; instead of policy most of his messages are composed of insults, memes, accusations, lies, threats, alternative facts, guesses, incorrect info, fear mongering, i.e. mostly a bunch of “stuff” that could come from a fifth grader.
99% all of statements from him were pure BS and trumpers confuse it with policy.
His two policy initiatives were 1) build a wall and 2) lower taxes.
His primary initiative since the beginning of his business career has been to get gullible folks to give him money. He’s been very successful.
If you don’t want to talk about low IQ, I’m fine with that. But you will have a hard time convincing me that Trumpers are not incredibly gullible.

I disagree a little bit. He did have, or at least promoted, polices that conservatives claim to support. For example, he supported stronger border control and stricter immigration enforcement. He supported NATO countries paying their required share. He opposed the Iranian nuclear deal. He supported loosening regulations on energy producers, and the economy in general.
I think he did have some polices that were good, at least from a conservative point of view.

If you think Trump cares about jobs, American values, gay or non-gay, white people, working class, farmers, guns, right to life, low taxes, his wife, his kids or anything on your list that I missed …….. then you have joined millions of other Americans and have been conned by trump. But don’t feel bad, he’s one of the best con artists in the history of the planet.
With Trump it has nothing to do with policy or issues.
His entire life has been about developing schemes to move money from your pocket into his pocket.
Would love to know how much money the Trump supporters on this board has sent to the GOP. Do people realize how much of every dollar sent to the GOP actually goes to Trump, his legal defense, his expenses, his jet fuel, etc.?
Those donations certainly didn’t go to any policy initiatives. LMFAO.

I still can't believe people make a big deal out of that riot. They were just tourists being tourists. That's how it always works after an election. It's probably that way this morning on this beautiful day.

Well, I guess they did threaten to kill some American politicians, but aside from that this was a bunch of pleasant tourists.

After every election when the President of the USA loses he incites a riot on nonsense and then "patriots" go beat up cops and destroy the Capitol showing the world the democracies don't work and that we are a failed country and nothing to strive to be like.

It was t see who was involved and what they were thinking and how something so absurd happened and to have some accountability. It's important. It's one of the darker days in USA history brought on by the former president when he lost. You just think it was nothing? You seem smart. Only moron doesn't get the basics. You are still confused don't just gloss over that day and just call it a bad day? It's like some dude bearing his wife and just acting like it was so last weak, but a thousand times worse.
