My concern about Louisville vs Alabama

Nov 15, 2016, 11:17 AM

There is no arguing that Louisville style of play is what always gives Alabama fits. My concern with Louisville is that Lamar Jackson has not shown enough consistency as a passer to beat Alabama. Deshaun Watson did so well against Alabama last year because he could take off and run as well as throw an accurate pass to a receiver while moving in the pocket. If you watch Lamar Jackson's games this year his passing on the go hasn't always been so hot. I think Alabama could easily take away Lamar's running ability as We, Duke, Wake, and Virginia did. Remember we shut down Lamar for the first half until the second half implosion. Alabama will not implode like that and will control him the entire game. They have the depth on defense to rotate players to reduce fatigue from chasing him around the field.

Bobby Petrino would have to come up with one hell of a game plan to beat Alabama and I just don't see that happening.

Don't get me wrong I would love to see this match-up but I don't think it would be nearly as close of a game as the 'experts' think.

I'm not saying Clemson would do any better than Louisville either because Watson has not shown the consistency so far this year that we would need to knock off #1.

I don't Louisville in the top 4,or in the conversation for that matter.
They scare me more than Alabama because of what Lamar can do.
Besides,we have played them once, and you never like the odds of a rematch,
especially on a neutral playing field.

No worries, they need Penn St to win the B1G, WVU to lose another game (won't if it don't happen this week) and WSU to beat Washington, cause we aren't losing to Wake or any other regular season game this year.

I for one am glad you are stopping. You are one of the most ignorant posters ever. You obviously think very highly of your own opinion, unlike the rest of us - RockHillTiger

Alabama would sit on the ball most of the game and make

Lamar show them that he can stand in the pocket under pressure and beat them with his arm. Louisville does not match up well with Alabama because they rely on Lamar Jackson touching the ball 100 times and exploding late in the game. Their defense isn't good enough to force Alabama to go 3 and out consistently and if they let Alabama get in their groove and run their gameplan they'll be in a game that quickly becomes a blowout. I'm not saying Louisville can't beat Alabama but they do not match up well against them at all and they would need to play lights out mistake free football.

I see Alabama trying the strategy that GT used on us a few years back when they had success against us. I think they'll try their best to keep their offense on the field and stretch their time of possession so Lamar jackson and company won't have many chances. I think it could definitely be a blow out if Louisville makes a few mistakes and doesn't execute when they do get a chance.
