Abbott's response is not proportional to the issue at hand. Illegal immigration is a problem but not one that requires what reads like a near military stance. It certainly isn't an "invasion". Russia rolling into Ukraine is an "invasion".
Gun boats? Are we going to shoot people trying to cross the border? Seems a bit extreme to me. My favorite is the "Enter into agreements with foreign powers to enhance security..." This is more "Mexico will pay for our wall" nonsense, only without the specifics so that he can't get raked across the coals when it doesn't lead to anything. It's just more scare tactics to keep people worked up. That's all. Makes me wonder what news he's trying to deflect from. Is there a snow storm on the way that he needs to cover for the power companies again?

So you are down with Biden’s approach to change “nothing?”
I don’t know where you live, but if you live in coastal SC and the same number of illegal aliens were coming ashore here, including an estimated 2000 get aways a day, I suspect you might have a different view of the issue.
It’s a problem. Innocent people are dying and being raped because the federal government is not doing an adequate job so those attempting to illegally enter our sovereign nation are increasingly victims as they journey north.
77% of Americans support more law enforcement along the border. That’s a stunning number.
The status quo is unacceptable so Abbott is filling a vacuum.
