And the hit he's most proud of wasn't the result of an interception, as folklore goes in Gainesville, Georgia. In fact, he completed the pass to a teammate on an out route versus Buford High School. The ball was jarred loose. A safety picked it up and took off. He saw Watson coming, licked his chops, lowered a shoulder to blast through the QB and...
Watson loudly smacks his hands together.
"...I grabbed him. Scooped him. Body-slammed him on his head. Boom! Right on his head!"
I'd love to see the video of that.

Good article but I think they took a few liberties. Don't think DeShaun was googling high school players when he was 8 years old. Maybe they did have internet but I'm doubting it.

If Watson never played another down........

......I'd still die thinking he achieved it all with more class, more guts and more skill than all but a tiny few who have ever played the game.
Watson took 'lil ole Clemson' to the CFP and put up two of the most memorable college football championship games in history against the most storied team of his generation. He won a College Football National Championship at a program where they achievement was thought improbable by most, and the team he left behind won it again two years later.
We all know what he said. "Let's go be legendary." And then he did it.
I'm tickled he's got a ton of cash, can take care of his Mother and folks he loves and do what he wants to do. He does not need pro football to be forever one of the faces on my personal Mt. Rushmore of football players.
Thanks for the memories, Deshaun Watson. Thanks for being Deshaun. 4. Watson. Best is the standard.
