Muschamp telling Burch a lot of nonsense

Rumor is 5* Jordan Burch is going to the Coots spring game instead of our Spring Game. Rumor also states that Muschamp is telling Burch he can player right away at UofSCjr and be a generational player like Clowney was. Where as he'll have to wait a while to play if goes to Clemson. Hey Muschamp how about you tell the kid full truth that you're not Steve Spurrier! And that if he goes to UofSCjr that he'll be on a forever mediocre team that's about to go 5-7 next year!

That's pretty much the expected sales pitch to a high profile recruit in their position is it not?

Wouldn't a generational player start at any school? He's pretty much telling him that he's not good enough for Clemson.

With all due respect, "Coach X is telling Recruit Y a bunch of nonsense" is par for the course when it comes to recruiting haha. Of course he's pitching the Clowney angle, because it's the only thing he has to stand on. "Come be a pillar in the history of the program! Come be the man here from the jump! Don't just be 'one of the guys', the the guy!" I can't say I blame him.
I was talking about this earlier with a friend. While Clowney being #1 is certainly a great thing for their program, even before this upcoming draft Clemson has been consistently putting Rounds 1 & 2 defensive linemen into the league. Yeah, the odds are Burch would probably red shirt for a season because while he's immensely talented from a physical standpoint, he's relatively raw from a technical one...however all Venables has to do is point at Clelin Ferrell and note that he red shirted because he needed to improve the same way Burch does and look at him now.
Even though he's going to their Spring Game and not ours, I wouldn't panic too much. Still a long way to go here. From a negative recruiting standpoint, the narrative writes itself: for the past 3-4 years the SEC East was down, with Georgia, Florida and Tennessee all going through their worst seasons in ages over this span. South Carolina got their "QB of the future" in 2016 and had an opportunity to push themselves to the top over these past seasons and couldn't do it. This past year, which could be characterized as their "last chance" to make the jump, was a complete failure. Not only did Florida move back above them (with no signs of slowing down), but so did Kentucky! So here's your choice: be "the man" on a team whose ceiling is third place in the division or be an important part of a team who's going to compete for national titles year in, year out.
To me, it's as simple as that. And if he wants to be the focal point of a middling team, then let him go! It's for the best.

I bit the bullet and read it. It actually isn’t too bad to read. Proper spelling, grammar, capitalization, and coherent thoughts. Don’t see that much around here.

My only response to it is that Clowney was not worth a number one pick. Sell that Muschamp.

I mean, Muschamp is right about playing time tbh. XT and Rudolph on one side. KJ and Foster on the other. Mascoll in there as well. He will definitely see the field quicker at SC. But that’s a testament of our depth. I take it as a compliment. We’re just that talented.

I think I have seen this somewhere... like on NBC, six seasons ago...
Coot player: "But when you showed me that field, I saw there was nothing to worry about here. I could just play football for the *escort money*. I mean, have you seen these guys? There is nowhere to go but up."
Muscoot: Dude, we have feelings.
Coot player: I don't know about you, but I know I ended up here because things weren't that great out there. You should try accepting where you're at, man. Take a pottery class or something.

I heard he also said he could have the number 0 and that he would be the first College football player in history to wear that number if he came to SCU.

Will should include the fact that his recruits will get to be home for the holidays, while CLEMSON players have to endure going to those extra CFP games. Just think, they can be sitting by the fire watching real teams while the real teams like CLEMSON must continue to practice and play hard. Life is good in coot world.

Yeah, despite getting an invite to Charlotte to play at a department store, USC didn't even show up. They even served up white meat and all.

Muschamp plays players an ungodly amount of snaps. Every year they have tons of injuries on D because they do not rotate at all. And then Gamecock fans wonder why they have so many injures

This is something that should probably get more attention. Even back to UF Muschamp always had a large number of players hurt every season. It probably goes to practice habits and what they do off the field though as well.

Uh huh ..... just like when Tanner let his closer throw something like 132 pitches in the CWS claiming that it was not harmful to his arm.. Anyone remember how the guy did in professional baseball? Me neither. I don't think he was ever heard from again.

If I was him I would just like to maybe not play as much first year and accumulate CFP Championship rings. He will be a high draft pick no matter where he plays

Yes he would “see the field” in Columbia on that talent-poor team. And when his eyes look up from that field he will see empty metal bleachers and a lonely 1969 ACC Champions banner. That’s it. And that’s all he would ever get to see there unless they start adding second place banners for the JCPenney bowl.

If they take the bait they have accept some of the responsibility for their decision. In this day and time with social media most players should know what they are getting into.
Now if players can prove that they were lied too and misled during the recruiting process then they should be able to transfer out or take legal action. If more recruits would come forward and report recruiting violations some of these slezy coaches might change their recruiting tactics.
I feel bad for most any player on U of Cootsville . There are a few who deserve to play for muschump.
From talking to all of my coot friends they are almost ready to dance with the devil and sign a lifetime contract with him just to have a winning football program.
Go Tigers!!!!
