Saudi Prince Alwaleed has been heavily invested in Twitter for over 9 YEARS. In fact, he doubled his stake in Twitter in 2015 to the tune of 34.948 million shares of Twitter. I guess when Twitter was being run by leftist ideologues it was OK for a Saudi to have that kind of investment but now that someone who is not a committed leftist owns it - NO WAY.
All Alwaleed did was roll over his previous Twitter investment - 34.948 million shares of Twitter–worth $54.20 per share - and put that money back into Twitter as a minor investment partner to Musk in his acquisition of Twitter.
Wouldn't it be nice if reporters would take the same interest in the Biden families business dealings with foreign Governments? You know - where there may be actual influence peddling going on...

This isn't necessarily about that as much as it is about Tesla's Shanghai plant, which is 1/4 of the revenues and even greater share in free cash flow of Tesla.
Would China squeeze Musk's Tesla business if they didn't like the commentary on Twitter? Or would they leverage Musk to give up the identity of certain Chinse accounts they thought were inflammatory? Would they force Musk to propagandize Twitter users even more heavily with some kind of neural linguistic programming to make us all kill each other more quickly?
None of these things are out of the realm of possibility and I think we are dumb if we refuse to question whether the level of power concentrated in the hands of one individual poses a serious risk. If it was a public company with a Board of Directors, like it was before, this problem doesn't exist. But because he took it private, it's all on him.
It is actually more than likely Twitter won't exist in it's present form in the next year, so hopefully these will all be kind of moot points by then.
