How many MNC's would have been won?

If there was no CU or USC just 1 D1 fb program in the state? Look at the players that both schools have put out and the ones that went out of state. For the size of our state and population wise to have 2 teams looking at Top 10 rankings when the season starts that really amazing. I think that team would be in the hunt every year. Yes I am a coot but would like your honest thoughts.

Having only one D1 team would make in-state recruiting a lot simpler (since CU and SC wouldn't have to fight each other, and 90%+ of those recruits would have grown up fans of the team anyway). That being said, between the two schools only 1 MNC has been won. I would say at least 2, because if you take all of the good years SC had before recently and combine them with all of the non-1981 years Clemson has also had, there would probably be at least one more (especially times like these past 2 years where both teams have top 10 talent).

If we had Scar's defense we could have won the natty the past two years. So I'd say at least 3 but maybe 4 or 5

Imho, several. Cherry pick the best from both schools in the last 40 yrs and you have some of the best athletes in the country. Just being honest...
