More preferable scenario: FSU wins out and gets OB Bid w/

Nov 5, 2012, 4:51 PM

ACCCG win. Tigers win out and get 11-1 at-large bid in BCS bowl--ACC gets two BCS Bowl appearances. OR:

VT beats FSU, Tigers win out and get OB Bid at 12-1 and FSU plays in Peach Bowl (or whatever it's called now)?

I don't really give a #### about the ACC so I'd rather win the ACC again...

What say ye?

Great question. The problem with FSU losing again is that it diminishes the ACC and our one loss. What do we win? We get to play a four loss team in the ACC Championship and Louisville. Louisville?!?! They haven't played anyone either. There is no way to prove your greatness by beating Louisville.

A BCS win is a BCS win...Think any UGa fans grouse about

Clemson in the ACCCG means I get to watch them play one

extra game - so I'm going with that option.

Its all preference.

1) We beat SC, Win ACC, opportunity to beat winner of Big East in Orange (kinda revenge, shuts up last year).

2) We beat SC, opportunity to beat good SEC team in Sugar or other good team in Fiesta (big national statement).

Winning the ACC Championship is one of the main goals every year. Clemson has won more ACC championships than any other team. I would hate to see FSU catch is the championship count especially since they have only been a member for about 20 years.

The question is, what would be viewed as a greater

achievement by the rest of the college football world, result in a higher ranking, and help recruiting more? :

A. Win the ACC and beat Louisville in the Orange Bowl.

B. FSU wins the ACC, but we finish 11-1 and beat Georgia or Florida in the Sugar Bowl.

Which would be viewed by recruits and the rest of college football as a bigger disaster for our program, and result in a lower ranking?:

A. Win the ACC and lose to Louisville in the Orange Bowl.

B. Finish 11-1 then lose to Georgia/Florida in the Sugar?

I think the risk/reward ratio of an OB matchup against Louisville is too large. The potential damage done by losing far outweighs the reward for winning, in my mind. Plus, winning the ACC would not be perceived as a big deal in a year when the competition is so poor. On the other hand, beating a highly ranked SEC team would do wonders for the program, perception-wise, while losing to such a well respected and hyped football school would not be as bad as if we lost to a Big East School again.

Much better to win the ACCCG

Two titles in a row would leave no doubt that Clemson is the real king of the ACC, not FSU. Plus, I guarantee that Louisville will be an easier out in the Orange Bowl than anyone we face in the Sugar.

Agree...how can anyone not want to repeat as Champs ?
