Country music died in the 90s. There’s a good Alan Jackson

Doc on Prime that explains a lot of it. Or you can ask my bud, Radney Foster, he can tell ya about it. He was semi-famous back then.

Tippin and then the GREAT Reba.

Your post clues me in to one thing...

You're listening to corporate commercial TV/radio instead of looking for the good stuff. It's out there if you're willing to put in a little work and not let yourself be fooled into accepting the genre tags that large multi-national conglomerates are feeding you. Go look for the good stuff and you won't be disappointed. Or, be lazy and let the mass-marketed music fall in your lap and complain about the state of 'Country' music...or ANY genre for that matter.

Some Tyler Childers, Sturgill Simpson, Turnpike Troubadours, Shooter Jennings, and Chris Stapleton, and see where it goes.

A wee bit back I found the best FM station around Bristol Tn/VA.

Some of the best music I've heard in ages.
