Moaning & Groaning

Sep 6, 2022, 1:53 PM

Geez! What's with all the complaining? I'm near 70 yrs old and have seen the good and the bad and recall many trips to & from Atlanta with my tail between my legs. My gosh, we won by 31 pts! If some spent a wild passionate night with Jenifer Anniston (my favorite) they would still complain. As Confucious once said - "the worst I ever had was still good." No, it wasn't necessarily pretty, but it was still good to me!

Have you spent 70 years in a bubble? Heck you boomers invented complaining in public (civil rights movements, war protest, etc)
Surely you’re old enough to know the answers to your questions but do lecture us

This isn't those teams. This isn't those games. And, this isn't those years. This team is trying to win a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, not just beat an average GT team. We've seen what it takes to win them and it's ok to have an honest look about whether we stack up. In fact, it's the best thing for anyone who wants to compete at the highest level.

It's game 1

Sep 7, 2022, 5:32 PM

we have no idea how we stack up. Neither does anyone else really. Key injuries, discipline issues, depth issues could get any body between now and December.

Cade could be DW2 or the light could suddenly come in for DJ and he's the guy from Notre Dame in 2020. All this hand wringing after 1 game, especially when those championship teams you cite all had bad games, is just stooopid

The irony...moaning and groaning about moaning and groaning

Here is a little tip....if you dont like it, don't read it. Here is another tip....this is a freaking message board not an echo chamber for a bunch of mindless yes men. Good grief.

Jennifer Anniston is one of my favorites as well - and I think you're right! The way you hear the narrative about the game anything less than 77-0 would be a disappointment!

I think by the end of the year the narrative about how good GT will have changed. I.E. I think they are much improved with all of their transfers and will win far more games this season!

It’s nice to have a gratitude post every now and then.

Sep 7, 2022, 5:08 PM

We do have a lot to be thankful for, and many schools would love to have the kind of football program we do.

Unfortunately, expectations are relative. Our expectation at Clemson, in 2022, is to make the four team playoff. This expectation is based on the fact that we were very recently in the playoffs, and have won two national championships in the not-too-distant past.

We have recruiting classes among the nation’s best, and we pay our coaching staff more than all but a few programs do. These coaches and players have the finest facilities in college football.

So yes, we do expect a lot. We should. You can’t blame fans for being disappointed.

"Everybody needs to know that Coach Brownell is arguably the best coach to come through Clemson." -PJ Hall
