All military personnel and citizens who want to leave are gone from the longest war we have ever had.
It was a cluster up until yesterday but we are finally out. Most of the fighting forces we had on the ground were born when we invaded.
I for one am glad we are out of that #### hole.

It's their own fault if they're still there. A level 4 travel advisory was given in April telling anyone there they needed to leave.

They are still there because the Taliban wouldn’t let them through the checkpoints to the airport. The state dept also gave multiple incorrect times and locations to get through.

Us staying there for 20 years was nothing more than to get the military industrial complex rich off the deaths of young American men and women.

There may be a few, but can we not also agree there would not need to be a diplomatic mission to secure the release of other American citizens, if there aren't Americans left behind who want out?
Actually Trump planned on getting out earlier, May 1st I believe. Since when has Biden been loath to change anything Trump had in place?
I'm glad we have our last military personnel out, but this was a pure unadulterated CF. The Congressional Hearings should be very interesting. Either our intel sucks really bad or Biden ignored advice warning him of what was likely to happen.

The one given in April said terrorism, civil unrest, armed conflict and kidnapping. I'm not sure why we should continue to risk the lives of our troops if people willingly and knowingly choose to ignore this.

Leave FBcoach alone. I have it on good authority that he personally flew to Afghanistan, got behind enemy lines and personally asked every single American if they wanted to leave or hang out with the Taliban. Hundreds of Americans said “nah we good”.
