Say...I won't be coming in late from fishing without calling ahead...12 people in her class and she had the best target including 4 men. I kid you not.

That's very funny right there ...

... I don't care who you are, lol! Women can shoot. Scored 100% on the range at my CWP test. Love to shoot, but ammo is so darn high.

Might be time to invest in making your own ammo…

Jul 17, 2022, 8:29 AM

My mother-in-law was a skeet shooting champion, and she always made all of her own ammo in their basement.

Better solution would be to find a boyfriend or sugar daddy to take care of that, lol.

Finding components will be your biggest challenge. Powder is becoming more readily available but then you need brass, bullets, and primers. And the cost is up. If someone is just starting up, it will be very costly up front.

That said, I reload for two rifles and my 9mm. Love being able to reload and would not give it up easily. Would still buy 9mm ammo though. Just because!

I have a 9mm S&W M&P model. I love it. The recoil is a little much for some women, who don't shoot a lot. I picked one that fits my smaller hand. The right fit is important for accuracy. Practice rounds are around $38 per box. I load hollow points for self defense purposes.

My wife has her CWP, but when she took the shooting part of the class, they didn't want her to use her pistol bc it's a 40 caliber, and they let her shoot their 9mm. When she told me that, I said that I would've insisted on shooting the weapon that she carries. She said that the instructor told her that women usually didn't do well with the big caliber weapons. I say that is BS, it's all about what you're use to shooting!!!

Awesome. Women make amazing natural shooters. I’ve found if you just don’t make them flinchy with some hand cannon out of the gates they’ll show you how good shooters can be.

Women can shoot very well..... they seem to follow instructions better than most men.

My father was a WW2 tank commander. He took my mother to the post range at Camp Polk and she out-shot him with an M-3 .45cal grease gun.

I took my twin daughters to a range to teach them to shoot when they were about 16 years old. After some rifle and pistol instruction, I threw some clay targets for shotgun training. They both hit their first target before it reached the apex, shocking to me because I remebered my first dove shoot with a .410.... I shot a box of shells without cutting a feather that day. It was several months later before I became a good wing shooter.

One of my daughters now carries a Sig Sauer P229 and knows how to use it.

Maybe because there's not so much bird hunting anymore. I spent a lot of my younger days in fields with bird dogs, but not much use to look for what ain't there these days.

Jul 17, 2022, 12:05 PM [ in reply to Re: Well boys, I very been teaching Mrs. SPUD to shoot...needless to ]

the first ones I shot at, and then proceeded to miss with 3 1/2 more boxes of shells. We just had dumb luck, but the birds were flying so fast and plentifully, I almost overheated the barrel of my shotgun missing them!

It was not until I later shot some skeet with a friend who had a small portable launcher, that I realized I was "under leading" the birds by about a foot. Things got better for me, and worse for the birds after that.

I can believe that Spud bc, when I first started to teach my wife to shoot, it didn't take but a few times at the range that she was having as good, and sometimes better groups than I was having shooting in an indoor range....
