Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel said police are investigating what coach Jim Harbaugh called an assault on two of his players in the tunnel after Michigan's 29-7 win over Michigan State on Saturday.
I believe that Clemson is about to change to ONE(1) tunnel and I hate to see that occur. The possibility of emotionally riled up competitors having to exit--or enter--field of play through a narrow walkway should be discouraged. Clemson should reconsider this modification if that is the plan.
That's why it needs to be officially investigated.
I could be wrong, but I believe that Michigan has used the following procedure for years. (I know they had this procedure in place when FSU went up there and played them 30+ years ago.
Members of both teams are never allowed in the tunnel at the same time.
1. Pre game: Visitors enter the field first. Then Michigan. 2. Half time: Visitors leave the field first. Michigan stays on field until tunnel is empty.
Second half, they use the same procedure.
There should be some Michigan security personnel at the entrance from the tunnel from the field prohibiting any Michigan player from entering it until the visitors are out of the tunnel and in their locker room.
1. Who allowed the Michigan players into the tunnel? 2. What were the players doing in the tunnel?
Michigan State players were clearly acting inappropriately. But, what is unknown is were the Michigan palyers in any way culpable for the incident?

Stuff on the field. Looks like it carried over to the tunnel.
My question is this, why were there two Michigan players on the visitors side to begin with? To me it appears that the two who were “assaulted” may have been talking crap and got what they deserved.

We're lucky we have a coach like Dabo. He sets a good example. He would never put up with this kinda behavior. That's because he teaches players the right way from the very first day that get on campus.
The two Michigan players chose to be where they were. They got involved on their own. Started smack talking and paid the price. It wasn’t a poor procedural problem…it was two idiots making bad decisions.
But using a helmet to strike someone? That’s criminal.
I believe that’s why would one or two players be intermingled with the opposing team even if they use the same tunnel? That needs to be answered, especially with the allegations of this happening against Penn State as well. Seems Khaki pants U has a problem leaving the field.
The tunnel is not in the endzone. It is on the 50 yard line on the visitors side of the stadium. Both teams use that tunnel to travel between the locker room and the field.
It has caused some consternation in the past because when the visiting team enters the field they must split - half go toward one endzone and half go toward the other. Then the Michigan players run out of the tunnel and onto the field between the two groups of visiting players.
Some teams (and fans) have taken issue with this arrangement saying they are doing it intentionally to divide the players.
That's definitely not what a rivalry should be about....

It should be more about throwing water bottles at opposing fans and team members, middle finger salutes, and profanity laced tirades huh uof7c fans ?!?!?!?!
