Miami is probably hurting the ACC more than any other team

Nov 5, 2019, 11:36 AM

Not only is Miami hurting the ACC by being only 5-4, but they can't make up their minds whether they want to be good or not. They knock UVA out of the top 25 by beating them, then turn around and lose to GT the next week, and then knock off Pitt who'd probably be in the top 25 now had they won that game and gotten to 7-2.

I haven't thought of it this way.

We really need to get everyone on board with the conference brand like the SEC.

All of their bottom teams let the top teams blow them out to keep the narrative pushed that they are great even though they won't be able to fill out their bowl allotment.

Louisville has also done similar by beating Wake and UVA, but losing to FSU and losing by 18 to ND.

Also our SOS the rest of the way could depend largely on VT. If they lose to Wake this week then Wake will be 8-1 and ranked somewhere(where depends on how high the committee ranks them tonight) when we play them next week. UVA may or may not be ranked by the committee tonight, but they should at least be close to being in the top 25 I'd have to imagine. They're remaining schedule is GT, Liberty, and VT. They should likely win the first 2 of those games easily, and a win over VT would leave them at 9-3 and easily ranked somewhere in the top 25 for the ACC Championship game.

That would suddenly give us 2 top 25 opponents over our final 4 games if VT will just take the L in those games. If A&M beats South Carolina and can find someway to beat either Georgia or LSU then we could suddenly be looking at 3 top 25 teams on our schedule which is pretty darn solid, especially from where our schedule is currently sitting.

You are forgetting about the coots. They beat all
powerful Gawga in Dogville and beat Vandy another sec
team with sec speed and sec players. The loss to Bama
doesn't count because the coots were lazy that day. They
will come out at least a top 15 team.

VT has beaten VA. a gazillion years in a row. This year they play in Charlottesville. I feel confident that the Cavaliers finally gain a measure of revenge this time.

Is Tommy Bowden coaching the Canes? How did that one slip by me?
