a degree...why do you have a problem with him also being a dad? It's not like he's 16 years old. When you look at what we consider the greatest generation, how old were most of those men when they became fathers?

So what population segment do you assign to "these guys?" Are you talking about football players, Clemson football players, college athletes, or in your mind are you drilling down even further than that?

join another team until this summer. It's great that he will get his degree but he'll be lucky to see the field for anyone next year with his late start. 2-I'm a little old fashioned and believe that you should marry someone first, then have kids...that's what the "greatest generation" did (since you brought them up).
I don't have a problem with young people having kids. There are people I went to high school with that had kids at 18-19 years old and did fine, I just believe you should get married first. Children in unwed households are at a great statistical disadvantage for success in life.

I do disagree with such a blanket statement that was used in the post above about "so many of these guys." What percentage of football players at Clemson have kids?
Also, to build off your post, is Adrian getting married? Is he already? What is his personal situation? I have no idea but I'm sure as heck not going to judge him for having a kid and making a decision that he feels is in his child's best interests. If AB's statement is true, then that shows a lot of maturity to me. But the post above suggests the complete opposite IMO.

is referring to football players for Clemson. I do agree with CUGRAD90 that it seems like a lot of them are having kids with their girlfriends, but it is most likely that you just hear about the ones that have kids and no articles reference those who don't.
Ones off the top of my head recently that have had kids:
Martavis Bryant (2 or 3)
Adrian Baker
CJ Spiller
Admittedly this list isn't very long.

and logic would suggest there are more. I'd be curious to know how that compares to the general student population though. And while statistics favor getting married prior to starting a family, CUG90's post seems pejorative and judgmental, hence the followup questions.
