Was talking with Mom yesterday about her and my dad's siblings and military service etc. She said that while all of her brothers served, they either missed WW2 or got there after the fighting was over or stayed stateside. (her brothers were a good bit older than her, she's the next to youngest of 9) On Dad's side, he did a stint in the Navy in Korea, his younger brother was in the Army between Korea and Vietnam and his youngest brother flew fighter jets in Vietnam. His oldest sister was in the WAAF in WW2 but the farthest she got was Louisville KY.
His mom was my great aunt Blanche and I remember as a kid getting my arm stuck in the wringer on her old washing machine but didn't really know about the rest of her family.
