Meet at the Paw VS Rushing the Field

Jul 10, 2022, 11:11 AM

I dont think this is going to be an issue if we join the SEC. When the stands "rush the field" ... there are no security staff expecting it or setup for it.
For Meet at the Paw... all of the security staff... which is increased and ready at the end of the game... are informed and it is all setup to support it. No security protocols are being broken and it is much less chaotic as gates are open for it. It maybe something that is reviewed but since we have protocols in place for it and a track record of it mostly going well, I doubt the SEC tells us to stop.

If people don’t stop jumping the walls and running like Usain Bolt to get in the players faces/tv (after being asked nicely to wait 30 sec so the players can shake hands) the AD may stop it anyway.

If people could pretend to have some sense and do as they’re asked, then it could continue forever.

Our current overlords in Greensboro have allowed it. New potential overlords in Birmingham definitely would not. Appreciate your justifications and hope but I think we all understand that no exception would be made.

As noted above, it needs to be a "controlled" Meet at the Paw.

All it would take would be the coots getting fined by the sec after beating New Mexico State again and rushing their field and saying...well, they do it at Clemson....

Getting wayyyyy ahead of yourself, it would be nice if we at least had an invite before making rules as if we were already in the SEC. ;)

It would be nice if that was the only problem with college football right now?

“Meeting at the Paw” celebrates Clemson w/out regard to

to whether we won or lost.

“Rushing the Field” is what they do at other schools during a moment of high emotion over a big win.

They are two very different things.

When I was growing up in the 70's it seems like mostly younger kids went on the field to meet players. The past 20 years it seems like it's all about the students trampling everyone to race to paw.

Who know if Clemson will even allow it this year. Maybe they go to just the last home game of the year like last year.

It's a shame if they do. Going on the field after the game is unique to Clemson. We keep losing traditions and we are going to be like everyone else.

Lost traditions:
Balloons on the hill.
Tigerama is not near the show it used to be.
First Friday parade is hit or miss these days.

*I know, I sound old.

You are 100% correct though… old or not!***

But it needs to be “meet” and not “rush” to the Paw…

Show some decorum and like we have been there before because we actually have! ????

Pretty simple solution: add 2-4 more gates on each sideline to get people on and out quicker so they don’t feel like they need to jump the wall
