Mediocre ACC

I just read the new article in Tigernet about how poorly the ACC teams have done this year. I wonder if this will heat up our administration's desire to leave the ACC to go to either the SEC or the Big 12. I do not want us to end up staying in the ACC if it becomes known as a cupcake conference.

You know I am tired of this Confrence talk. I have denied it from years but it is true. The Acc is just bad football and I do not see that changing. Can we be the power in the Acc? Sure we can but the fact is that is boring. I love how I felt when we played Florida state and auburn ( before we knew they sucked )the emotions the excitement even the disappointment. Playing BC ,wake , duke ,Pitt , Syracuse , and those like them is not fun.

I don't think this will happen. We really struggled with BC and they were beaten by winless ARMY team and I believe it is at home... It is disgusting that we (ACC) became the conference we are today.. Frankly only Clemson, FSU are the only team that can even give the big boys a game ...The rest of the conference is really embarrassing. I would not have included Clemson in the list of good teams if not for Dabo. None of his predecessors did anything and they all came close second or third... Hats off to Dabo seriously and he deserves all the credits of coaching and getting good people but we are NOT where we need to be yet as Clemson. Sorry for digressing all over the map..

We need to demand better as fans and supporters Do I want to win? Yes of course but I want win against good football teams and I want to be proud of what we accomplish. If you are honest with yourself winning the Acc is good but at this point I want more I want to compete with the best. I am not sure what to do but I do not want to be in the Acc anymore .

well with the 50 million dollar buyout I believe were stuck forever. So what needs to happen is the ACC needs to get rid of Swofford. Next the ACC teams have to start winning football games.

Shorter term Fla State has Fla at home this year and Clemson has South Carolina at home. Those games represent the only pre-bowl chances for the ACC to earn a pittance of national respect.
In the bowls hopefully Clemson & Fla State will get a shot at Mich, Mich State, Texas or Notre Dame. I am confident we have a shot at beating these programs ... maybe NCSU can also win a bow;, MIA who knows, the balance of ACC schools ????

We should have the same grade requirements as anyone else in the country. We can't even offer some guys because they don't qualify. Yes, college is for education but college football is a business. Treat it that way. Although, I doubt Swoffy cares about that as much just as long as the tv deals are still around average.

Um, Clemson is a state school and has the same MINIMUM requirements as South Carolina. Clemson just has more applicants for less spots, so we have a higher AVERAGE GPA coming in. The athletes are subject to the same statewide and NCAA requirements as South Carolina.

Most TigerNet posters agree the sec is an overrated conference boosted by the ESPN hype machine. The big least sucks. The big10 is down and has been. So if the ACC sucks so bad, does that make the PAC12 or the BIG12 the elite conference?
