Media hype is our biggest problem

Oct 20, 2013, 11:07 AM

Obviously the hype got to us and we tightened up last night. All week long ESPN and other media outlets were praising us and every player and their little brother were doing a one-on-one interview. This practice is BS! These 18-22 year olds have proven so many times that they can't handle these over inflated egos. Tajh is always doing some special interview and I see it as unnecessary distraction. Shut up and play! Dabo should not allow all this unlimited media access to our players. Most young kids can't handle it and I do think it played a factor in our epic choke last night. Man I didn't sleep well last night. I hope the players and coaches didn't sleep at all!! They embarrassed Clemson and let everyone down with that inexplicable performance.

The best post of the year Dabo. Should back off to the players with so much media exposure.

well said...yet even though all your sentiments are correct,

I don't want the young men on the field to think we have given up on them...quite the opposite, learn from this and never let it happen again...teach the next group through how horrific it feels to go through this...

GO TIGERS !!!

That would be NO. The problem last night was that FSU was the superior athletic team across the board. This speaks to Dabo's recruiting philosophy.

Yeah, because recruiting is Dabo's weakness...***

Who gives a #### about media hype?

Oct 20, 2013, 11:43 AM

Weren't we the underdog? Even as the favorite, who cares what the media thinks, it SHOULDN'T have an effect on the team, IF the team is national championship worthy.

If you think the Kids can't handle it ...Dabo is the worst ...He not only can't handle it ...He spreads and cultivates that S#*t to the players ..

Yet the freshman lived up to his hype.

Pumpers(which I am proud to be one) need to stop looking things to blame this loss on. It's simple, once again Boyd looked like he didn't belong on the field.

Sure he's done great things at Clemson, but this was 1 of about 4 games in his college career that he looked unprepared, deer in the headlights, scared, looked like he didn't belong on the field.

Give me a break with this media hype BS, 3 guys have garnished huge media hype this year(Boyd, Clownboy and Famous), so far only one of them has lived up to it. Boyd failed, all he's guaranteed is a scholarship and a chance to compete, starting jobs are a prize based on real time results, not last year or last week.
