From what I've read/heard, it's a combination of things. Apparently he's been somewhat injury prone and a lot of colleges that offered early (as I believe we did) want to see him get through his senior season healthy and productive. Also, from what I've gathered, Clemson feels pretty good about their standing with a couple of players higher on their board at the position than McCrary is so they feel as though they can sort of slow play this one, to an extent.

I have no inside knowledge of the situation, but that's what I can piece together from different sources.

FSU and UF have both pulled back like Clemson to see if he remains injury prone or not. And yes we are slow playing him

in my world, offer + acceptance = contract, as long as there is consideration (something of value) given.

The coaching staff is playing the waiting game for various reason, injuries being one and being high on a number of better WR prospects being the other.

I don't know if that is as absurd as it first seems. He said on camera the other day that he had 2 more years at Clemson, and he just might be the kind of young man that wants 3 great years under his belt at the collegiate level before moving on. Last year was certainly not great,and I get the feeling he may want to compensate for what he feels was letting down the fans, the coaches and his teammates.
