Why would the Texans have any interest in McCaffrey? He’s an overpaid, over the hill RB with an extensive injury history in a league where quality RBs are a dime a dozen.

He's a heckuva lot better (when healthy) than the stiff they got from Arizona for Nuk.

“When healthy” is the key phrase.

McCaffrey and Burns but I don't think Houston will accept

just those 2. Its gonna be those two and a couple first rounders probably. McCafferey is basically Saquon Barkley at this point. He plays about a third of a season and i doubt he has much value in this type of trade. Burns is a tough one to lose b/c he is really good. Should watson stay healthy he's got 10 years of value at his age. I'd say McCaffery is about 5/6 and Burns is the same.

McCaffery is a very good player, but isn't big enough for an NFL RB and won't last the pounding he's gotten there and will get. Would be better off switching to a receiver position.

I think having a couple years with players of DW and CMC caliber would really good for the franchise personally.

Drafting offensive players? Can’t give up their best weapon without trying to replace him.

Christian McCaffrey is great catching and running if he could stay healthy.

CMC is a salary dump at this point, meaning to get rid of him, Carolina would have to give up something.

And that means it makes sense for Carolina to keep McCaffery and hope he can stay healthy for a couple seasons with Watson. It's not in the Panthers best interest to pay to get rid of him.

Would be magic to keep Robby Anderson in this scenario. I bet him and DW4 would light it up!
That fifth year option for Darnold is terrible though, that guy is a moran.

McCaffrey is a RB(devalued position) with a horrific contract and major health concerns. They'd be lucky if they could swap a 7 rnd pick for CMC. Never draft a RB in the 1st, never re-up a RB, and remember good value can be found in the late rounds of every draft and usually in the UFA pool. Be aware that regardless of how gaudy a RB's stats may be, they have little to no affect on Wins and Losses.

They sound like they are planning on giving up the house if they get him. Who will the playmakers be? When McCaffery is healthy he was the offense. We seen what they are when he was not on the field.

He's just the latest example of why it's so dangerous to sign RBs to big 2nd contracts - even if they bring more to the table than just running the football.
Given his current contract situation he probably has negative trade value.
