My mother attended the Clemson baseball game yesterday

She saids that some adults were heckling the fsu players behind their dugout. She said all the tiger fans around her were appauled....sickens me too. don't want fans like that representing Clemson University........ughhh.....

I hope they were merciless and made it clever and relentless and suitable for a 10 year old's ears.
Giving opposing team fans heck - pointless. Making sure the #1 team in baseball knows they are no longer in the friendly confines .... Required !!!

Heckling at ball games is a time-honored tradition. Creativity and getting in the opponent's head without getting vulgar is well within the boundaries of acceptible behavior at ball games.
Compare that to the NC State "You suck!" sort of heckling and you can see the difference.

teams from Mississippi (can't remember just which one) had their shortstop make something like 4 errors in a row against us and we gave him such a hard time, their coach actually took him out of the game halfway through. I just loved yelling, "Hit it to short!" every time one of our batters came to the plate.

If youre behind the bench and doing that during a FB or BB game you can actually be removed, but thats an accepted part of baseball. Has been since its inception.
