Maybe we're the ones failing the ACC......

I want the ACC to be viewed as a strong overall conference. I think that benefits all members. To me, that means being relevant in both football and BB. I know that the entire state of SC (my home state) does not care about BB, but the rest of the free world does.

To that end, it seems to me that UNC and Duke have been doing their part for years now to hold up the conference in BB. As a matter of fact, it seems that you only need two good teams and a few average to above average other conference members to be viewed with at least respect (something we all know we lack in football). Heck, the average teams can even take turns and rotate as long as UNC and Duke keep doing what they consistently do.

Which brings me to my point: Don't you think it is basically the job of Clemson, FSU and maybe VT and Miami to establish the football reputation? Lord knows Duke and UNC don't seem to mind that we suck at BB. Playing us in BB doesn't seem to bring them down now does it? So why are we so intent that they somehow are bringing us down? As far as I'm concerned we should send a letter to the entire rest of the ACC and apologize for not holding up our end of the bargain. Maybe, just maybe, we should stop sniveling about the ACC and get our crap fixed and establish the football presence. I'm pretty sure that our contribution to the ACC isn't ever going to be BB now is it?

If BB doesn't matter, then I ask....Why are we even in a conference? By that logic we might as well go independent.

Sorry. Don't know why this "it's the ACC's fault" bothers me so much. I normally never post. Usually more of a listener.
