In my experience, coaches know other coaches. When I was an assistant coach for little league baseball, I always knew what we were in for if I knew the opposing coach. The fact that UGA has maybe the most talented roster in the country, and returns so many key players from last year, but barely snuck into the top 5, well, that tells me that Kirby's peers just don't respect his coaching ability.
To me, that coaches poll says a lot.

There is simply nothing Alabama can do against Miami to keep the #1 spot after the first weekend.
UGA being ranked #5 helps us in that. It's ours to snag.

I think some of it too is that these coaches look out for each other. They are aware of Kirby’s physical and mental limitations (t-Rex arms and he attended UGA) so they want to protect him kinda like that radio guy.

I can only imagine the insight Muscoot has given Kirby Smaart on his Clemson experience.
You know Kirby we came within 30 points one time & our fans claimed it as a victory so you just have to make it a good game, look I’ll talk to Dabo again about his wife to make him mad & this should be easy....... ????

and I have an ESPN insider account. From what I have been told, this is a practical joke that has been perpetrated on their program going on for two decades now. It is kind of like when Lucy pulls the football away from Charlie, the idea is to continually set them up for disappointment so that it becomes a part of their culture. So far it has worked very well due to a lack of leadership in their AD's office, which again, amongst my coaching circle friends, is considered to be one of the most inept in the country.

The reason is they were ranked behind Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, and Ohio State so unless you think those 4 are overrated, your point is moot.
