Only way I'd go along with WVU in the ACC is if their fans aren't allowed in Clemson.

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.

WVU is lower academically than East Carolina .... and South Carolina. I haven't checked Western Carolina but I heard they have classroom so maybe better than North?

but if i remember correctly Louisville was on par with WVU

academically and the ACC picked them up late in the process. I'm no expert on who ranks where on the academic front but i remember alot of people scratching their heads asking if we're picking up Louisville then what was wrong with WVU again? Syracuse or WVU..? IS there really any comparison there?

UofL was on the same footing as Cincy at the time, I think WVU was lagging slightly. Since then UofL has made moderate improvements while WVU has faded more but is still lagging very far behind.

I am not really against WVU joining but really they would have a provision that they must obtain at least South Carolina level of achievement within 10/15 years. Basically provisional status. I don't think it is that unreasonable.

That being said, I don't want to play in their sandbox (and neither does anyone east of the mississippi) but I would be find if we used them to split north/south or ACC vs Big East and thus only potentially played them in the ACC title game.
