Most Embarrassing Moments in Modern Clemson Football

I bring these up to illustrate how far we have come in recent years under the right leadership.
2002 loss to Maryland, Friedgen told his boys at Half time that Clemson would lay down, and they did. The only bright spot of the day was a vicious hit by Justin miller separating a Maryland RB from his spleen, and the football.

96 Gator Bowl Route vs Syracuse. Legend has it that the entire Clemson Oline was out drinking the night before and it showed on the field.

The 2004 muffed punt against GT at Home. Clemson secured defeat from the Jaws of Victory that day.

The Rob Spence Era. Two point stance, Purple Jerseys, Bubble screens and 2 of the most prolific backs in Clemson history wasted on the same team.
The 2000 Chris Wenkie's 98 yard Statue of Liberty Play to Snoop Minnis which broke Clemson's back in an eventual route.

The Clemson 37-0 Beat down at the hands of VT in 1998. A sense of relief filled the Valley that day because it was now obvious that a change was coming.

The Beat Down at the Hands of Alabama in the 2008 Opener. Ten years later, history repeated itself as an emerging program man-handled the Tigers and a Change was made.

And Cal crushed us, too. I was at both of those games -

we were never in either one.
Charlie Whitehurst shoulda sued the OLine for lack of ANY support in the TT game. One of the most amazing displays of toughness I have ever seen - he was getting Major Harris KILLED and then some.
The Syracuse Gator was atrocious as well.

Being on the hill during that Maryland loss was not fun

I vividly remember the Justin Miller hit. I also remember the endless ribbing I got from my cousin who attended Maryland. What a waste of a night game. That was a terrible evening.

Ironic, considering EVERYTHING you post is a negative jabs towards someone you don't necessarily agree with.
This is a freakin' thread about "Most Embarrassing Moments in Modern Clemson Football." What on God's green earth did you expect to find here?
Jesus, dude. Get a grip.

1987 woofpuppy game - we were #7 in the country - rolling -

undefeated . . .
We almost came back - but didn't happen.
Embarrassing how we weren't ready to play against a MUCH inferior team.
Proud of how we never gave up.
Remember when the outside wall of the building by the 7-11 across from Riggs Field had the schedule painted on it ?
I would walk by that schedule nearly every day after band practice and look at that nc state date and say HOW IN THE WORLD is THAT the date that is going to keep us from challenging for another NC ? Was in complete disbelief for WEEKS over that game. Still am - actually.

May have been a blessing in disguise

That was my second Clemson football game ever as a small kid.
Had we won that game, we would have rolled into Columbia 10-0 that year with a possible national title on the line. That's a nightmare thinking about the chickens knocking us out of an opportunity to play for the national title in football.
I hate to call any loss a blessing, but if it meant having to forever listen to them about keeping us out of the national title that year, it may have been just that.
