The job of the offensive player is to get as far down field as he can
The job of the defensive player is to stop the offensive player as soon as he can

If you are on the 3 yard line with less than a minute to play, and you don't fight with all your heart to get into the endzone, you shouldn't be on the field.

The defensive player simply beat the offensive player on this play. Yard marker had nothing to do with it.

this^^^... i wish everyone would see it this way.

it's not like he ran out of bounds on purpose.. he did what he thought he had to do to get every yard that he could... and, came up short. period.

If that was Scott that's a TD all day. He fights for every blade of grass out there. The bird WR was pretty soft; taking nothing away from Edmonds great play.

would be a valid argument that he was confused.

The fact that Edmonds clearly forced him out makes any argument moot.

Time for Louisville fans and certain media types to move on. It smacks too much of the"Notre Dame Monsoon" excuse.

Marcus made another stop on the other side of the field earlier in that series of downs. He's a smart player with good skills.
