Many on here have said we have to catch up with SCar re: $$$

May 18, 2012, 10:01 PM

I agree with that. SCar made $4.4 million more from TV than Clemson did. However, the revenue gap between us and SCar is $22 million. Why and how have they gotten so far ahead of us? How are we going to make up the $22 million gap?

Unforunately (or maybe fortunately?) now its just about

survival and being part of the new entity that emerges, money concerns are now a luxery.

We were looking for nice jewelry, now we are looking for air/food/water.

Someone needs to give me the breakdown on that $22m. It

May 18, 2012, 10:32 PM

Is not a combination of gate receipts, Tv, and booster club contributions. Their ticket prices aren't much greater than ours, neither is their attendance. The tv revenues are greater, but not anywhere close to $10m. I believe their booster club giving is higher, but not $10-15m higher.

USC has the YES program as well. Plus about a million + for UA deal. Plus license fees for Tshirts and so on. It seems that our stuff is very popular since it has the word ##### on it.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Maybe, but I'd still like to see the comparison broken down

By funding source.

The shared revenues from the SEC contract with TV networks.

May 18, 2012, 11:31 PM

If that don't satisfy you then ask on FGF. The bottom line is all that matters to Clemson.

Those third tier rights Swoffie gave away brings the coots an additional $7 million a year.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Never go to fgf, who needs to, all the Gamecocks are here.

May 19, 2012, 1:00 AM [ in reply to The shared revenues from the SEC contract with TV networks. ]

No one has yet to explain the supposed $22m difference with real numbers compared to Clemson's yearly total. I'm pretty up to date on this stuff, living in Cola, but no Gamecock fan I know has ever mentioned a $22m financial advantage this year over Clemson. Again, where is the apples to apples comparison?

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think the 22M is an estimate after the SEC renegotiate

May 19, 2012, 9:22 AM

their tv deal. I think with the new ACC deal and the old SEC deal we make about 1.1M less than the current SEC schools.

I think you are probably right. But if someone came on Tigernet in 2009 and said in three years A&M and Missouri would be in the SEC, TCU and WVU would be in the Big 12, Boise State would be in the Big East, and we would be hammering out the details to a four team playoff everyone would have laughed him off the site. Anything can happen

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Here's an apples to apples comparison.....

May 19, 2012, 7:27 AM

...Of each school. Just click the + by each school to expand and see the details. The biggest difference is that the gamecock club brings in about $9mm more a year than IPTAY.
