Also knows Florida HS coaches and recruits. Don’t know if he would fit in with Dabo though.

You do mean Manny Diaz. His defenses at Miami have been less than impressive. But yes, he does know the recruiting territory down in Florida. Still have my doubts.

My thoughts on Manny.

He fits right in with the Miami swag/thug mentality. I've heard too many stories about his partying with HS coaches at clinics. Not immoral stuff but just likes to show the coaches how cool and wonderful and he and Miami are. Tossing free beers to them in his hotel suite while talks are being led by other college coaches. "Hey, you don't need to listen to him. Come to mine room for a couple of beers!" That sort of thing.

talk to Gary Patterson (ex head coach of TCU). But I really think Dabo has a succession plan already in place and imagine he will announce it in short order.

Regardless, Manny Diaz is not the answer - wasn't that great of a DC to start with and his head coaching stint has been bad as well. Especially this year - his defense can't tackle worth a darn and we need someone that is going to continue to instill toughness - not that finesse and faux thuggery garbage he dances with in Miami.
