Birthday week / Clemson experience

Y’all, most of the time in life we have to downplay expectations and not overhype something to avoid disappointment. I told Shells, I don’t have the words to do that with what you’re going to experience in Clemson, and boy did that hold true!!! What a trip, what a Gameday experience!!
Wed last week was my bday. We did a private rooftop gathering of friends in Sacramento, bringing together folks to meet and mingle, then about 20 of us walked across the street to see Billy Strings.. great night of love and laughter and music.
Thurs travel day to ATL, drive to Sky Valley GA to stay with my best buddy from Clemson. Buddy showed up around 1a, the Clemson fam is on…
Fri we drove into Highlands, Cashiers and hiked Rainbow, Turtleback, and Whitewater Falls.. my first love affair with the mountains coming from the Lowcountry. Beautiful rainbow and sunset.. seemed like all the signs were pointing in favor of Tigers
Sat we drove nice by 1045 and made it to Gameday broadcast at Bowman. Walked campus, met up with old Clemson friends, went to Esso, made Tiger Walk, and then finished tailgate portion strong with some strangers/ new friends before heading into the game. Thanks to all who had us or invited us; definitely sorry to miss out on a few of y’all that gathered… next time!!!
Had tix on visitors side 25 rows up in the 40… great seats and what an intro!! Electric and palpable. We were loud early and often, starting to yell loud at 28 secs of each NC ST play clock.
We all watched, the game and crowd were AWESOME!!
Went down on the field after. Of course she got a high five from Dabo and DJ, talked to a few players, hooked arms for the alma mater, and finished off with the drum line. By this point, she’s HOOKED ?
Asked me on the way to Chas Sun, “Wait, when do we get to come back..? We are coming back right? We have to!”
Sun-Tues went to Chas for family time with folks and sibs. Charlestowne Landing on Mon, swimming at Sullivans Is yest.
This trip was EVERYTHING. Friends old and new; my Chas home, Clemson home, and even Sac home all playing part; family time; beaches, mountains, music and of course, a HUGE Clemson win
We got in late last night
Still glowing from one of the best weeks ever

Geez, you did more at Clemson than me & a zillion others have done over many years of enjoying the campus, and even with taking vitamins.
Saying, You deserve every bit of the happiness, fellowship, fun & lifetime memories you found, received & made from ATL to Clemson to Mt P & back to Callie..
especially what has happened in your life last several years plus working to help others live & die gracefully with Covid.
