Man, I hope Stoudt goes 39/40 w/6 TDs and shuts all

idiotic 'fans' up.
People are dumb thinking they can judge talent on less than 30 plays of offense in 2 games.
I can't wait for the coaches to turn and say, "Watson is definitely the future of Clemson football, but Cole Stoudt just proved why he is OUR starting QB this season. Now, that should just about wrap up any crap headline you journalists can muster with any direction toward some manufactured controversy at QB."

I don't care about the stat line as long as the Tigers leave Tally with a W.

You're silly if you don't think Watson supporters don't want the best for Clemson in every football game. I hope Cole does that too. But the truth is whether Watson could do better or not Cole will not do that in Tally.
Curious what all the genius fans will say when the more likely scenario plays out for the third straight time this season. The coaching staff has basically set him up for failure. I hope in a few weeks the fans like me that are calling for him to see less reps hurt him less than the fans that will probably turn on him in the Tally game.

I really don't care if the fans shut up or not. It would be a lot easier to tolerate if Cole dialed up those numbers.

So what if he just completely sucks it up? It's very hard to see him go into Tally and have a great performance like you are hoping for. I will always love my team and every player who is apart of it but if Stoudt doesn't perform as expected then Deshaun deserves a chance to show what he can do.

If Cole Stoudt has about 250 yards and 3 TD's to lead the offense (with a rushing TD along the way), I think our Defense can keep the game close!
We have a chance, so let's make it happen!!
Go Tigers!!!

Actually, I've watched the cut-ups of every passing play Cole Stoudt has ever taken at Clemson. They're out there on youtube.com thanks to mbro if you care to look.
You can see quite a bit of progression from his freshman to senior years. Stoudt is not a bad QB. He's accurate, especially short-to-medium range, and he does a pretty good job making his first read.
His main problems are lack of elite arm strength, which means the ball tends to float a bit on his deeper throws (which can lead to picks and gives defenders time to react); he's built along the lines of Charlie Whitehurst but he doesn't have Charlie Whitehurst's cannon arm. He's also not particularly mobile - and we're not just talking running ability; he doesn't manipulate the pocket well or sense the rush particularly intuitively. Tom Brady, for instance, can't run at all, but he's the all-time master at subtly manipulating the pocket. Which means that when the rush starts getting to him, his eyes drop, and he stops looking downfield...and he'll either take the short dumpoff (which gets buried) or he himself gets buried.
In short, he's got a decent, not elite, arm, and he can hurt you if you give him time...but that's true of a lot of QB's. You want to see the classic example of that, check out Bobby Petrino's current QB at Louisville, Will Gardner, who has no more mobility than Stoudt - but has an absolute laser and can tag a guy between the numbers, in stride, fifty yards down the field. The good news for an opponent facing Gardner (and Stoudt) is, he's a statue in the pocket, and if you can get to him, he can't hurt you because he won't escape the rush.
Watson is very different. He does have a cannon arm - it looks like he's got Tajh Boyd's arm strength, but is more accurate - and he's extremely mobile, not just in terms of running ability, but can string things out with his feet and keep plays alive.
Stoudt might be ahead in terms of knowing his protections and the playbook, but he's got little to no chance of keeping Watson off him the entire season. Actually I don't think Stoudt will last past the FSU game. Not a "Stoudt sux" comment, just...cold reality.
Just my own opinion. Sorry if that seems "dumb".

Hardly idiotic fans to suggest that maybe the other guy

is better, especially on a message board. I'd say idiotic fans would those that boo Stoudt b/c he's playing or bring a sign saying they want Watson over Stoudt.

Hope Coach Morris trusts him (even on 17-yard line. Without that OC trust and a lack of conservatism, Cole or any QB will struggle and fail against FSU.
