Make no mistake, it is ESecPN and the $EC driving expansion

but ESecPN doesn't get a vote and the $EC can't do jack $#!7 without support from the other Power 5 conferences and/or Notre Dame and they know it.

Notre Dame shouldn't have a vote in anything concerning any power 5 school in FB until they are in a conference with their FB program, and not a second sooner!!!! Notre Dame gets paid $15 million per year for their FB rights. If the greedy bas tards don't want to share like conference teams have to, then let them take their $15 million a year, and watch the playoffs from their TV room!!!!

They would get substantially more money if they were in the ACC or BIG10.
ACC FB teams get a pay out of 25+ million.
ND being independent has more to do with scheduling their traditional rivalries.

Makes it sound like we have been left behind. SEC has gotten too much of the money and with that comes the power. Thought the purpose of the alliances with the other conferences was to slow the SEC down. Sounds like the ACC maybe on its own.

Why would we go to the SEC to be one of the smallest schools and lose our historical rivals and have to travel all over the country for games? Not being in the SEC didn't keep us out of the playoffs 6 years when we were good enough to make it in.

Sankey won't change anything without unanimous consent prior to 2025. It's in the rules.
If his point is Sankey will get expansion in 2025 that's misleading because...
the ACC isn't against expansion, it's just against expansion right now, given the other more pressing issues facing college football (NIL/Portal). I'm sure the ACC will be part of serious expansion talk at the proper time. Does anyone really think it's a good idea to open another can of worms given the issues all schools are currently facing with NIL and the portal?
The premise of the article is dumb, it's pure click bait.

It's true. But after 2025, then unanimous support isn't needed.
So, we do have leverage now. But that leverage lasts 3 more years, and then things can happen without us. Not saying it will. Just saying that our current power to slow down expansion of the CFP has a finite timeline.

that's a SEC rag - consider the source

SEC desperately needs expansion - their membership would have to start leaving without it(or if it's too restrictive for them to get more teams in) and they promised OU and Texas it was coming. Amateur hour the way he and the others presented the findings/recommendations to the public when it was something like a committee of 3 or 4 that was supposed to be presenting back to the larger committee/board. The ballless presidents should have stripped him of his position as one of the heads of the NCAA transformation committee.

Clemson is one of 14 votes in the conference so that is the only dog we have in the fight.
